I bought tires from PepBoys about 6 months prior to stopping in. Well my wife hit a pot hole here in Chicago and the passanger tire went out. I told the guy in the tire department that it had the 55,000 warranty and I needed it changed out. He claimed that he couldn't find me in the database and asked if I had a receipt. I was a little angry that I mysteriously couldn't be found in the database because they had just updated it some time ago to a new format. So I went to my car and dug up a receipt that I luckily had on me. After talked with the salesman (who was acting like a wiseguy to me) I found out instead of going through this who computer thing and going out to my car he could have made a 3 minute call to the PepBoys in Lombard to verify if I had the warrenty. The receipt showed I had bought the tires from PepBoys and indeed had the insurance but then he kicked me out and refused to service my car because I was "being so dramatic".
