This is a beautiful restaurant. Even the entrance door fixture seemed deliberate. Our host greeted us by poking his head through a thick red velvet curtain that separates the doorway from the dining room and said ""reservation?"" then went to check his records. I felt strangely privileged when we were permitted to follow him past the curtain into the restaurant. We were seated in the basement which has a brick vaulted ceiling and gives one the feeling of being in a Romanesque church. A working fireplace makes the space especially cozy although things are a little too tight. Our table was next to the stairs and servers bumped my chair several times. I'd have to say that this was the worst seat in the house.
