My girlfriend and I decided to give Marcello's a try. Overall, we had a good dinner. The olive oil served with bread was really good, and we got free salads (although with too much dressing) with our meals. I can't remember the names of the entrees we ordered, but one of them was really good, while the other was terrible. The good one was penne in a cheesy tomato sauce with eggplant. The only thing that could have made it better was more eggplant. The other entree was maybe spaghetti tossed with sun-dried tomatoes, pine nuts, and basil. For some reason, it had a very smoky flavor that basically covered up all the other flavors. Even the sun-dried tomatoes were hard to enjoy with the smoky undertone. Maybe it was an unlucky fluke?
