I am a big fan of Indian food, and I recently moved back to Philly from California, where there are very good Indian restaurants. I was excited to try Palace, and was extremely disappointed. We asked for our food very spicy, and got bland tasteless dishes. We then asked for some chilis to make it taste like something, and the staff was begging us not to do it, that it would be too hot, etc... We explained that we love spicy food and are very used to eating hot food. The whole staff then hovered over us in wonder while we mixed the chopped chilis in the tikka masala, trying to make it taste like something. If you like Indian food for its complex flavors and spiciness, then this place is not for you. This is Americanized indian food -- not the real thing.
