Don't try to park here~ 5/27/2017

We have attended several sports events and now one graduation. The parking was horrendous, my husband, with an Achilles tendon issue had to park 9 blocks away. I saw numerous handicapped grandparents (I presume) climbing the nosebleed seats with canes. I forgot my cane, and so we got a workout, and those of you with painful injuries know what that means. There seemed to be no plan for seating or for handicapped people. Come on, people, a graduation should be attended by grandparents, am I right? Afterward, we never did find our granddaughter or all of our family but luckily one family member found us and drove us to our car. (She had found parking on High St.) Even on a less populated day, parking is bad. I feel for the DPD officers trying to direct traffic. They deserve commendations! The Ritchie Center was poorly designed and we will hesitate to attend anything there again. And BTW, if you can find parking at one of the parking facilities (most are blocks away, and the close in parking, especially handicapped fill up right away) you will pay at least $7.00 for the privilege of being herded into a badly-designed and user-unfriendly facility. The architect should be chased out of town. more
