I am Italian and consider myself a pizza eating expert. No matter where I visit, I order pizza to try the pizza in that region. DeFazio's pizza was the absolute best I ever had..crust was crispy and tasty; the topping (Florintine) was absolutely delicious. Then I had the homemade fettucine..almost as good as Mama's, and the sauce (putinesca) outrageously good. I've told many food loving friends about this gem..

The pizza was excellent, with just the right amount of bottom charring. The shop feels like you have stepped back in time...but not in a "Disneyland" plastic way. Complimenti!

According to several reviews read online, this place was supposed to be outstanding. Recently tried it and was very disappointed. Average salad and pizza. I've had wood fired pizza before, and believe me, this was nowhere near as good. Also, the interior of the pizzeria appeared to need a good cleaning - dusty blinds and curtains, sticky tabletops, dirty cabinets, cobwebs, and the floor definitely needed mopping. Most likely won't return again. Correction: Will not return for sure!

My husband and I visited DeFazio's after reading recommendations on this web site. We love their pizza and want to return to try other dishes. They have a large brick oven in which they cook their pizzas. It is by far the best pizza I have ever had in my life.
There is a small dining area with 3-4 booths and 3 tables.
Very quaint.
No alcohol is served on the premises.
You can park on the street outside.

DeFazio's has a lot to offer the real pizza connoisseur. As someone who grew up in New York City, I have become accustomed to good tasting pizza. Upon moving to Troy, I was disappointed in the quality of most of the pizza that was available. DeFazio's is an exception to that statement.
Their pizzas have a heavenly crust, and their sauce is made with good seasonings so that you actually feel that you are eating true Italian pizza. Their toppings are high quality and are offered in many traditional Italian styles. If you ever have a chance to taste their homemade pasta, I recommend that as well.

Housed in Troy, NY’s “little Italy” and family-owned and operated, DeFazio’s is a treat any time! Their pizza is delicious and their menu offers a wide variety, including make-your-own as well as specialty pizzas. They also serve some delicious pastas (with both homemade pasta and sauce) and salads too. The food is available to eat-in or take-out. The service at DeFazio’s is always friendly and if you keep your ears open you’re sure to hear plenty of neighborhood gossip from the regulars stopping by to chat!

DeFazio's is an excellent find in Troy for Italian food and groceries. The restaurant boosts homemade pastas that are available for purchase in their grocery next door. The four cheese pizza is out of this world (if only it were bigger! But then again, it's so rich...). They have a pasta sauce that mixes alfredo and marinara - absolutely awesome! Easily the best sauce I've ever had, and on homemade pasta - it can't be beat!
