I have been getting my hair done at Ando's for over 15 years now. I have never had a bad hair experience. My colors always come out natural looking. My hair looks and feels great everytime I leave. I have also had a great experience having my eyebrows waxed here.

Believe it or not, the campus barber is one of the best places in Troy to get a haircut. My husband is a regular, and he always leaves with a stylish, great cut. No easy task when he's starting to go thin on top. But he always looks good and the stylists are super nice. They take walk-ins on Mondays and Fridays.

Rite aid has some great deals, especially with their rebate program. Their rebate program is all on line, and you don't have to send stuff in, you just submit on line. They have a lot of free after rebate stuff, which is great to try new products. This store in Troy is larger than other ones in the area. Although it is hard to make a left onto and then into the store off hoosick street, I guess there is not much you can do about it.

I have my hair done by quite a few of the ladies that work here and I always love what they do with my hair. I have been there for everything from a cut, highlights and even a few updo's. The prices are very reasonable. I would highly reccomend this salon!

Lou the barber is by far the best barber around. Especially if you go to RPI, skip the campus barber who just messes your hair up and go to Lou's.
His place is covered in old sports memoriablia, and there is very rarely a wait.
Lou himself is an awesome guy who swears a whole lot but knows when its appropriate (i.e. he doesn't do it in front of kids, etc). He'll talk your ear off about stuff you want to talk about, not the normal dribble most barbers give you.
His haircuts take faster than any other barber I have been to and cost about $8-$10.
All in all, if you go to RPI, or live around RPI, Lou's is the place to go for a haircut.

I joined the YMCA since it is the only gym located in the Troy area. It costs almost as much as Gold's and ABC and it is not nearly as nice. The equipment is old and the facility itself is old and rundown. The place is filled with children (pre-teens) placing on the gym equipment and they aren't even allowed to BE in the fitness center. It costs as much as the other YMCAs in the area and others are MUCH MUCH nicer. You are allowed to use any YMCA in the area, but lets face it, if I wanted to drive to Clifton Park to work out I would have joined Golds.
