Best

The best Indian lunch buffet I have been to. We drive to San Mateo from San Francisco just to eat lunch there. Excellent service, fresh food, I also like the Indian and ice cream ...

Mediocre food, Terrible service 5/11/2008

The food, as others have said, is OK -- not great or even good, but just acceptable. But the service can be TERRIBLE - I'm not exaggerating here, it can be really bad. If you go on one of those nights when the owner doesn't seem to be around, the waiters can be downright rude. We had the unfortunate experience last night and will never go there again. more

Good 6/9/2006

I went here for a mom's night out and enjoyed myself. They also have a lunch buffet which is great in my book! It is a very unassuming location -- I wouldn't have gone in if I hadn't been meeting people, but I enjoyed it. I got the samosas which I enjoyed. My friends got some sauce-laden food which I didn't try because I prefer my food on the plain side. I would definitely come back if I was downtown and looking for Indian food. more

Great restaurant to eat Indian food! 1/19/2006

My husband and myself have been going to B'bay garden for years. They have other branches too but we like the one in San Mateo downtown better. They are clean, the food tastes awesome and the service is excellent. more

Very popular not sure why 8/15/2005

This place has a killer location in the middle of san mateo downtown. That is all i find good about this place. The vegetarain food is mediocre at best i -hear his non-veg fare is a lot better (i am a vegetarian). There is no other comparable north indian restaurant in the vicinity which is the only reason why this place does so well. The same food served in a place like sunnyvale would do no business. But for some strange reason it does great business.. good feng shui may be. more
