This is such a little home style store. It's about as mom and pop. They are known for homemade ravioli that you can take and cook at home, but they also have a daily sandwich deal that is under five bucks, even with chips and a drink! They serve great home cooked lasagna, and my friend always orders the hot pastrami. There are also a few shelves of interesting ethnic food products.

Taqueria De Amigos has the best burritos. We used to go there as a family on Sundays for dinner. But lately, I have been hearing all this bla-bla about buritos being super caloric and super fatty - and we have not been visiting Taqueria De Amigos for that reason only. But burritos at Taqueria De Amigos really rule - they are super juicy and flavorful!

This little neighborhood store is on Ninth and Claremont, right around all the auto repair shops. I usually stop here when I take my car in for a tune up and have time to kill. They sell sandwiches, sodas, water and snacks. There isn't an area to eat in, but it's pretty close to Central Park, which has picnic tables. It's a real small town store, and I like to give them by business when I'm around.

I do like to shop at Drager's when I'm walking around downtown San Mateo, but it is really expensive. They have a good selection of chocolates, good produce and deli options. They also have a coffee bar and I've had some bad experiences with the service there, but I still stop by to window shop when I'm downtown.
