I've had the pleasure of dropping my car off at almaden chevron for a great variety of reasons; oil changes, brakes, tune ups, etc. and I must each time I recieved honest and reliable advice as well as lower than dealership rates. I've never felt i was being forced to make the repairs suggested or even unsure of the suggestions being made. I'll be returning!

I had brought my 1996 Chrysler Cirrus in to Santa Teresa Shell for a diagnostic (kept stalling out) hoping they could locate the problem. I even had my car at the dealer twice with no results. The service manager at Santa Teresa Shell took the time to listen to my car problems. He asked numerous questions as far as when the car stalls, hot, cold, etc...not even the dealer inquired this much. I was given an estimate of $196.00 which I thought was a bit high but decided to have them give it a shot. The service manager called me in the afternoon asking if he could keep the car overnight so he could see what the car was like when cold. That afternoon on the second day he called that he had pinned down the problem. I told him to go ahead and fix the car. When I picked up the car it actually ran better then it has in a long time. He explained, in detail, what tests were performed. He said he spent over 4 hours diagnosing the problem, and after reading some of the information he had for the car during his diagnoses, I believe it took that long and the quote of $196.00 was actually more than fair. I don't think I'll be going anywhere else for repairs on my car other than Santa Teresa Shell.

Yes the gas is expensive here, but I just go to costco down the street from Chevron for my gas. The car wash though is very good. The basic wash is 15 dollars. This seems to be the standard price for a hand washed car wash. They do the best job I've gotten for the bay area. I think the only other place comparable is country club car wash, but they're even more expensive. Go for the car wash and nothing else.

I bought my 2001 M3 from this dealership after visiting every dealership in the Bay Area. Most others treated me like they thought I couldn't afford it (at the time, I paid cash for it) based on my age.
The purchasing experience was a great one from start to finish - the salesman did not pressure me, and even took me out and helped me learn to drive a stick well before I picked up the car!
Service here was very thorough, and efficient. I never had to wait more than a few days to get my car in. I would buy another car from them in the future.
PROS: Efficient, professional

Well, I don't normally write reviews, but here I just had to. I saw that there were two and only two reviews on this business, an they were both bad. I thiink some people will have a bad experience at a good place--it happens. This shop (and I have encountered a lot) has exceeded expectations with service! Dave is the manager of the shop and he has gone way above and beyond to fix the car and assure us of his knowledge and honesty. My girlfriends car has had an intermittent starting problem over the last few months. She would go a week with no problem, then get stuck somewhere when I was at work. We brought it in last week and they found a problem with the battery bolt. Another week went by, it occured again. So, back to the shop, everything checked out fine. Then again, and Dave told us to call him when it happened he would try to come to us. Yestarday, when I was at work it happened again and my girlfriend called Dave who immediatley came TO THE CAR and diagnosed it on the spot! He got the car to the shop, drove my girlfriend home and had the starter put in the next day by noon! A lot of shops "wash their hands" on these kind of problems because they could end up losing money trying to diagnose something like this. Dave was patient and honest about not replacing a part that did not necessarily need to be replaced. His price quotes were accurate and his communication during this process was thourough and informative. Another super cool thing about getting service to your vehicle here is that they are open late. The shop closed at 5:00, you just got off work... no problem, you can go to cashier 24 hours a day and pick it up! To those who have had a bad experience here-chalk it up as that, because this guy and this shop are a lifesaver (hey maybe when your car broke down and you had to have it towed, YOU werent in the greatest of moods?). Take your car here and be assured you are in good hands!

My car lost both belts as I was near this station - the owner was working at the service desk went out of his way to get my car back in working order. I was very satisfied with his professionalism and speed! I had to get to Stockton later today and he fixed my car in about an hour - and he had lots of other customers (some ahead of me).
