Aikido Kids is a wonderful program. My son goes there twice a week and it has greatly increased his confidence. The teachers are terrific, very patient with the children, positive and encouraging. Aikido is a defensive martial art and focuses on teaching the kids to avoid getting themselves into troublesome situations. more

Aikido Kids 4/29/2006

My 5 year old has had 4 lessons with Aikido Kids now. He is doing great. I signed him up for it to build up his physical abilities and self-esteem. It's a bit expensive but I'm sure it will be worth it in the long run. Today he took his first test and earned a mark toward the next color belt (he started out with white but is moving toward yellow, I think). I kind of have to talk him into going every week, not because he doesn't like it but because he goes right after swimming lessons which kind of tire him out. Big thumbs up for Aikido Kids! more

Aikido Kids 3/27/2006

I signed my 5-year-old son up for Aikido Kids. I figured he could use the skills to improve his strength, balance, and coordination, in all of which the poor little guy is lacking! He's only had one class but he LOVES it. He learned all sorts of new things his first day. His eyes absolutely light up when he sees his uniform. I think that makes him pretty special. My 2-year-old daughter, who doesn't talk much, is even going around saying, "Aikido!" like she wants to be a part of it (unfortunately, she is too young). Classes are a bit pricey but I don't know if they're expensive relative to other martial arts places. more
