FUMC has been a cornerstone to my family for five generations. Over the years, the church has opened it's doors to the homeless on Mondays for meals and for those seeking support through groupds like Al-Anon. The church also has a wonderful daycare and preschool program as well as an extensive music program. The building is also a historic landmark.

Another Historical place in Albuquerque. It is a private club for journalists located on a hill south of downtown. This rambling log cabin was originally a private home and is now a great spot to have a drink and visit with other journalists in town. Even if you are not a journalist and you want to just see the place they usually let you in. You can wander around the rooms, going up stairs and downstairs and then you end up in the bar and have a nice beer.

The greatest Toastmasters club in town, they meet the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month at the Albuquerque Press Club. What makes this group different from the other Toastmaster groups in town is that this club specializes in humor. They teach you how to use humor in your speeches. The club is home to several budding stand up comedians who have been known to try out their routines on the group. Even if you are not a member of Toastmasters you can stop in and visit the group and just laugh yourself silly.
