Basic YMCA 10/17/2005

This particular YMCA is one of the oldest in Arlington. Even so, it has kept itself Up-To-Date quite Nicely. It has a huge selection of Clubs and Teams for you to enroll your children in including Soccer, Basketball and Baseball. The actual Gym Area is rather small compared to newer locations but it does have a nice variety of equipment. Parking can be a problem on Weekends, especially in the spring when all the different teams are competing on the adjacent Soccer Fields. One good thing about the YMCA is that when you and your family join, your membership is good at the other YMCA branches. So join here and use the facilities, but be sure to check out the newer location on S Cooper Street! more

They offer all the sports and camps you would need for your child and also Adult Sports. They are reasonably priced, and do offer assistance if needed. Parents can volunteer to be coaches if you like. They do not offer much in the way of practicing because they leave that up to the team and coaches so you may not have many practices. I do think they need more regulations and rules for the teams and not let the coaches run it all. more

Great Workout! 7/20/2005

This place is someplace the whole family can get something out of. For younger kids they have outdoor swimming and different athletic teams that they can join. For adults they have a great gym where you can work out if you like the free style thing or you can request a trainer to kinda give you some tips a guidelines, or you can also join some of the class that are directed daily, for example kick-boxing. more

Offer many different Team Sports and Camps 7/15/2005

We love the YMCA sports teams. They offer all the different sports for all ages, and they also offer day camps for each sport. We have done basketball, football, and baseball with the YMCA and love it. I had an issue with a Coach and they did what they could to fix the issue. They have a nice family oriented program, and best of all it is fun for the kids. This is a great learning experience, and we have had no issues with mean coaches or over the top parents. This is a learning league with family values. Also Financial Aid is available if you want your child on a team and need a little help. more
