After about a year of living in Rochester, New York, my skin literally looked as if it was a connect-the-dots puzzle.
A California girl who was used to sunshine and great water, I moved to Rochester for a job at Gannett, but no sunshine and water filled with lead. I loved the city, but everyday I would wake up with a couple more pimples on my face. One morning I woke up with so many, I began to cry. My friend told me to try his dermatologist, Stephen Xenias, as he was good with Black skin. I made an appointment.
At the appointment, I told him about the pills I had taken in the past, and what I was doing in Rochester to prevent more acne. He suggested we try Acutane, which I had begged others to let me try in years past. I did.
It is now almost 20 years later, and I bet I haven't even had 10 pimples since then.
Just wanted him to know that I still think of him, and will never forget him letting me try the ""miracle"" that no other dermatologist would let me try as I was of ""child-bearing age"" (even though I insisted I didn't want children).
I am now back in California, and wanting to try Obaji. Wish I were a bit closer to Dr. Xenias. =)
