Looks like some of you haven't had authentic Chinese food 12/12/2010

I've been all over the world and can tell you Wah Fu has the most authentic Chinese food you can get in this area. Even their potstickers are hand made. I've tried many places (especially on the west coast where chinese food is true to the origial and very popular) and Wah Fu is easily the best Chinese food you can get in the Cleveland area. It's even better than the over rated PF Changs on the east side. What a wonderful hidden secret! more

Disappointment 3/6/2010

I was looking for a new chinese restaurant to try and thought I would test Wah Fu out. Sorry to say we couldn't eat the eggrolls because of the greasy soggy roll with a heavy garlicky taste. The Chicken fried rice was sort of dry and the beef in the beef chow mean tasted funny. Sorry to say I have to keep looking for a good chinese carry out on the south side of Cleveland. Pros: Hot Food Cons: Greasy garlicky eggrolls more

Wa Fu is Wanderful :o) 6/8/2009

Every thing is good from the egg rolls to the almond cookies. They have the best Wan Ton soup in the state. You get what you pay for. Pros: I love all their food. Cons: I can't get enough more

35 years of good food 3/8/2009

We've been eating at Wah Fu and using the carry out for 35 years and have never been disappointed. My brother-in-law, who is a world traveller and a gourmet, raved about the vegetarian mushu so much that we had to go back for another order during his last visit! more

Disappointed... Definitely had better for cheaper. 11/8/2008

I decided to give this place a try after reading some positive reviews here but I was very disappointed. I paid about 13 bucks for a pair of egg rolls and a single order of general tso's chicken (takeout), and neither were particularly good. The egg rolls had that typical cheap vegetable chemicalish taste and were pretty bland. I ordered the general tso's because I'm a huge fan of it at other Chinese restaurants and the reviews here praised it, but it's honestly the worst tso's I've ever had. It comes in a tub of mushy, chewy vegetables (again with that cheapo chemicalish taste) and pretty bland sauce. In my experience with tso's, you want good sauce and soft, tender chicken, and while the chicken was very tender, the sauce had barely any taste at all and over half the box was worthless mushy vegetables. I'll definitely pass on this place next time I get Chinese... I'm originally from the West side and I'm currently a student at BW, and Wah Fu can't compare to even the cheapo takeout/delivery places I'm used to. Being a college student, I want good food for cheap, and Wah Fu offers me bland, unappetizing food for more money than my already thin wallet would like to give out. Definitely going to avoid this place in the future... The positive reviews got my hopes up for nothing :-( Pros: Nice sit-down area, nice staff. Cons: Food is way below par, lacks taste, and is too expensive. more

Best Chinese Restaurant in Cleveland Area 11/2/2007

Wah Fu has been around for a long while, because they have great food, friendly service and a clean and welcoming dining room. I like their General Tso's Chicken, tender chicken nuggets and robust and pungent sauce makes it my favorite. Tony Kwan is always friendly, greeting customer nightly and what a hard working guy he is. I also like their Shrimp Egg Foo Young, so tender and moist and love the sauce/gravy that goes with it. Egg Rolls and Wonton soup is a must when my family visit them. Portions are so large that we always have food left over for lunch or dinner the next day. Five star for Wah Fu!!! Pros: Delicious food, Friendly, effient services, and clean, welcoming atmosphere. Cons: Nothing. more

Best General Tso's Chicken on the Planet 2/4/2007

Jruss needs to get his head checked. Flavorless? Come On! Do you work for a competitor or something? Wah Fu has some of the best Chinese food in the Cleveland area, hands down. I'll admit that not everything on the menu deserves a high rating, but the General Tso's Chicken is the best I've ever had. And I'm a General Tso's Chicken junkie. The Chicken is as lean as you'll ever find in any Chinese food dish and the vegetables are always fresh. But the sauce is where it's at - tangy, spicy, bursting with robust flavors. Thinking about it now makes me salivate. mmmmmm. It's less than 10 dollars and most likely more than you can eat in one sitting. Other dishes I recommend... Kung Pow Chicken, Emperess Chicken, Won Ton soup, Moo Shu. Honestly, I haven't tried many dishes because I always get the General Tso's Chicken. If I remember correctly the Mandarin chicken wasn't too good, or maybe it was called something else. Whatever it was it had lettuce served with it and I was disappointed. more

Wah Fu is flavorless 1/4/2007

I can't believe that Wah Fu is in the top three for Chinese food in Cleveland! Its terrible! I love Chinese food and eat it often at several different places. And have tried Wah Fu several different times. I have been disappointed each and every time! Their General Tso's Chicken, Cashew Chicken and Sesame Chicken are all sub-par. The sauces are runny and flavorless. Lunch portions are scrawny and presentation is sloppy. I say, find another place. Wah Fu should be missed! Pros: price is average Cons: no flavor to food, sloppy presentation more

best chinese food 10/18/2002

excellent fresh food. Vegetables are never mushy or over cooked. Always fresh and a little crisp. Big on portions, service and value. Very clean and recently expanded. I've been going here for years. Carry out ready int 15 minutes. Try General Tso 's chicken, fried rice, egg rolls and won ton soup. Pros: food, service, value more
