Vintage Etc

To be fair, the staff at Vintage Etc. is usually knowledgeable about their wide array of clogs. They'll help you fit them, get used to them, and let you know honestly what looks best on your foot. There is often a small, terrific sale section at the back, which is good because most of the shoes here are $100 and up (which you would expect to pay for orthopedic wonders). The downside is that a few members of the staff have major attitude and unfortunately the prices are not low enough to justify it. Other members are great; just pick what you want to deal with. They carry the best variety of Dansko, Wolky, and a few obscure other European brands I've seen in this area. Also unique and fun patterned socks, and things like leather insoles. more

Elizabeth has been running Vintage, Etc., for over ten years now (crazyclogs.com). She's a great cyclist and has a license to carry. This is the best place in Cambridge (or the Boston area) to get comfortable shoes. My favorites are the Finn Comforts, of which I have waaay too many pairs. The staff is usually quirky, friendly, and knowledgeable about the products. more
