Cakes are very tasty 2/7/2011

We usually stop here on our way to my mother in laws since it’s on the way. Great price and has very friendly employees. We’ll put in an order of the butter cream cake to pick up but my wife loves the scones so we usually get a few dozen of those also. All in all this is a great place! more

Good Bakery Before, Even Better Now 9/30/2005

For the past few years, I have ordered cakes from Vienna on several occasions. For the most part, I thought the cakes were good, but nothing to rave about. However my mind was changed on my most recent visit. I needed a birthday cake for my son’s first birthday party. And the bakery I originally wanted to order the cake from was closed for the week. So at the last minute I went ahead and ordered the cake from Vienna. I ordered a white cake with custard filling, and with whipped cream. The cake tasted amazing! I was very surprised by how good the cake was; way better than the past cakes I’ve purchased from there. The guests were raving and coming back for second and third helpings. Not positive, but I think there may have been a change of ownership within the last year or so. Aside from the cake tasting better, it seems they’ve changed their special order policy. I couldn’t just call in my order, I had to go into the bakery and pay for it at time or order. In the past, I had always called in my order and paid for it when I went to pick it up. I not thrilled with this change so much since it does make it a little less convenient having to make an extra trip to order. more

Delicious cookies and cakes 8/12/2005

I have visited this bakery many times, and its pastries are quite good, especially if you like sweet things. The have a few creations that consist only of meringue and sugar cooked together with a bit of food coloring, which have the potential to put you on a sugar-high. The cookies and cakes aren't bad either, but it's a bit too fancy to go here for more than special occasions more

Terrific European Bread & Pastries 8/6/2005

One thing I remember fondly about travelling in Europe was the ability to enter a bakery and buy fresh baked bread. Combined with some fine cheese (and perhaps some ham) and fruit this made a terrific picnic lunch. I did not know of anywhere to get that crusty fresh bakery bread here i the US until I found the Vienna Bakery. The bread is so good you could just eat it plain. To cap it off, they make a wide variety of French, German and Austrian dessert: cookies, cakes, tarts, pastires, you name it! Everything I haev had there is excellent. There is a small cafe to eat on the premesis but I have only every brought food home. It has all been terrific. If you are looking for a taste of Europe n your bread or dessert, or perhaps just looking to class up your home dinner party, this is the place to go. more

Friend loves, I don't... 6/22/2005

I originally tried out Vienna bakery because my friend and her family highly recommended it. As you can tell from the name, it's Itallian. But, they do make american baked goods and cakes, also. I have to admit the first time I tried it that it was a good experience; the cookies are delicious, mainly the thumb prints. But, the next couple of times we visited were lackluster. The help is mainly senior women who tend to get cranky at random times during the day. On one visit we were ignored several times after trying to get the attention of the workers. When we finally did, we choose a black and white cake for my friend's birthday. It looked good, but upon tasting it we discovered that it was old and somewhat stale. That experience was enough to leave a bad taste in our mouth for Vienna Bakery indefinitely. Perhaps if you order anything else besides the black and white cake, you'll love this bakery as much as my friend does. more
