We were all down at the Veteran's Day Parade... dogs and all...Walked over to have a beer on the left side ot the patio which was EMPTY. They would not eerve us a single beer unless I put my dogs out in a driveway, which was pretty dangerous... supposedly someone got bit a couple years ago by a dog and no one can bring theirs... no one was nearby. So we packed up and went back to James Island which is a VERY dog friendly town... any place with a patio will allow your pet to enjoy a bowl of water too. Pros: Shem Creek - good service... Cons: no pet friendly, had to wait a long time to findout to leave more

I like the bartending staff and the people are very friendly, however, the dessert selection could use some improvement. I ordered a chocolate something that was an upside down Lil Susie or Ding Dong type with icecream and whipped topping...I ordered some port wine but that was not carried either. The bartender comp'd the dessert but I still tipped him well.\r \r I'd recommend a multilayered chocolate cake with icing in each layer and the shaved chocolate on top and keep 1 or 2 ports on hand...you may even get a dessert crowd to frequent your place.\r \r I have had other items on the entree and appetizer menus and everything is great.\r Pros: inviting, friendly atmosphere Cons: lacks quality dessert items more

We ordered 3 different sandwiches. The cuban sandwich was killer. The mahi mahi needed to have more mahi mahi. The chicken salad needed more mayonnaise. The french fries are fresh and home made and DELICIOUS. The potato salad was very good as well. Pros: You can park next to the restaurant Cons: We ate outside the day we went and there were a ton of flies! more

First time in Charleston April 2007, so we asked our hotel for a recommendation for lunch. We were looking for a very upbeat atmosphere with music and fun staff. Unfortunately we were sent to the wrong place. The hostess acted liked we were bothering her, the waitress took for ever to acknowledge us, when she decided to notice us she came over to the table and said (oh, I?ll be right back) finally came back to get our drink order, wouldn?t wait for us to order our food. Waited for ever for our drinks, finally came back for our food order, waited for ever for our food. Never once did she check on us for drink refills or how the food was. At one point got up with my friend to use the restroom and asked an employee were are the restrooms, he pointed me in the right direction and he not knowing I heard him say (in a very nasty tone, well if you know how to read, the sign says restroom) By that time the employee disappeared, but I had my opportunity to see this individual on my way out and informed him that I did know how to read and that he didn?t have to be rude. This placed sucked big time, I wonder if your restaurant ever seen a vacuum cleaner or a bottle of Clorox. Oh yeah, how do you wash dishes with no HOT WATER? The one good thing I will have to say is that the Cuban was very good. more

Ok - yeh, I've done Manhattan's Balthazzar and Four Seasons, Philadelphia's Morimoto and Deux Cheminees ( read my reviews), and I know top cuisine. But there are times, most times in fact, when you just want to relax, enjoy the company and have something really good to eat. Well, that's where Vickery's comes into play. What more can you ask than for a really solidly good hamburger, your favorite beer and true Southern hospitality service? No pretense - just a great lunch or simple dinner. Places like this, when you look at why you're eating out, make the big boys look pointless. Pros: quality, service, atmosphere more

Cuban sandwich was very good, hamburger was good, bar area was very smokey. It is nice because they give you the option to sit outside. We have been here a few times and like it more each time we go Pros: inexpensive, downtown, outside seating Cons: smokey bar more

I love this place! Great bar, great feel. The bartenders seem to enjoy their jobs and Vick's burgers is an unbelievable burger. Who would have thought bernaise would be so good on a hamberger and french fries. more

The food is awesome!! I live in Spartanburg, SC and sometimes my husband and I make the 3 hour trip just to eat there on the weekends. The ranch burger is the best burger I have ever eaten and my husband loves the jerk chicken sandwich. I just wish there was one closer!!! more
