This restaurant was voted best of ahwatukee by the AFH News seven years in a row by the residents of the region. The restaurant closed at this location in December of 2005 upon the expiration of the lease and the inability to expand ... as badly needed. The reviews that you will find on this web.site are consistantly bogus and ill-inspired to defile and debase the good reputations of businesses such as this. As owner of VL for 27+ years I can guarantee 100% that no on ever dumped dried red pepper flakes on a dinner to make it spicy. more

The waiter saw our coupon & figured lousy tip, so he treated us like dirt. My husband tips beyond 20% for good service (even if food was bad). We asked for spicy, so they dumped a whole bottle of dried red pepper flakes into our meals. It was unbelievable! You coudn't see the food under the red pepper. The guacamole was old and discolored. I wanted to send it back, but our waiter never returned. When he finally came back it was with a check, he didn't ask: 'you haven't touched your meals, is there a problem?"" The final insult: didn't even take off the coupon from our bill. We were so angry we paid, left no tip (1st time!). NEVER, this is a first...and last. Went here after seeing the advertisements in the paper and had the carne asada. It was tough and had a funny taste to it. All of the accompaniments were not so tasty as well. Did not have a good time, both meals were not very good Pros: near to home more

This restaurant got some bad reviews, and I agreed, but after staying away for 18 months, I was surprised to find that everything has improved tremendously! The service was perfect, the food was out of this world, and everything looked so clean! They have two patios for outside dining, and they overlook a very pleasant lake, which has a fountain, for added eye-appeal. I can't wait to eat there again! more
