Best zoo I have ever been too! 5/25/2008

I had no idea how nice the Hogle Zoo would be. My family arrived at 9:30 am which was a slow time. I didn't think $8 was unreasonable to pay to get in. The exibits were great especially the giraffe one. You can get up to eye level to the giraffes thanks to the stairs in the exibit. If you need something to snack on I didn't think the prices were that bad. Definitely bring good walking shoes because you do get a good workout there are quite a few steep hills. We spent 3 and a half hours there and had a great time. I haven'e been to many zoos but this is the best one I have been to so far. Gift Shop-itis!! 3/13/2003

I was really impressed by the improvements made at the Hogle Zoo over the past couple years, however, there was one problem.......Sticker Shock at the Gift Shop!! I think its safe to say Disneyland was less expensive than our own Zoo, in regards to 'Zoovenirs'! On the positive side, however, the Outback Adventure was amazing. Having the opportunity to interact with hundreds of birds made our day!! Also, to save handful of dollars, bring in your own snacks, drinks, and food! Pros: Parking, Exhibits, Facilities more

A good time if you have kids 10/30/2002

Not that the zoo isn't as fun for adults, but it's a great place to take kids. The animals are relatively interactive and healthy, and there's places to sit and take a picnic. It takes about 3/4 of the day to get through. Pros: diverse animals, convenient parking, decent price Cons: crowded more

GREAT ZOO! 10/18/2002

Having lived in a few states and seen a few zoos, I wasn't sure what to expect from the Hogle Zoo, but I was pleasantly surprised. This is a well-kept, clean, enjoyable place to take the kids for a day. True, it may not have all of the animals that say, the San Diego Zoo, has, but this is definitely a zoo that Salt Lake can be proud of. Pros: CLEAN, PARKING, VALUE more

Fun for all ages 7/25/2002

The zoo is so fun and I could go every year and not be bored. Kids of all ages can enjoy it. New front entrance is nice, but need to invest money in animal areas. Pros: fun animals, close to the city, yearly new attraction Cons: crowded, parking, dirty more

Great escape 6/9/2002

This place is packed on weekends during the summer, but the best thing about Hogle Zoo is that it's open year round. Try coming in the fall when it's cooler. It's so much fun to watch the little kids light up when they experience the different animals. The zoo's location in the foothills make for hilly terrain, I think adding to the ambience. Just be sure you bring good walking shoes. Lots of people skip the concessions in favor of homemade picnic lunches--it's the best way to go. Pros: Picnic benches Cons: Weekend crowds more
