Urban gourmet is a sandwich/pizza shop/restaurant with a lot of take out options. It is decent food, but nothing to rave about. The service is a bit slow and the way they prepare food is rather unappetizing. If you hungry it's ok, but other than that try going somewhere else more

Great Food - Unique dishes 3/16/2006

Urban Gourmet was one of the first take out places I ordered from when I moved to the area and is still one of my favorites. They have a very large menu ranging from pizza and sandwhiches to pasta dishes and burgers. They also serve some tasty deserts. This puts them ahead of the crowd when most of the competition just serves pizza and subs. They also cook their pizza and calzones for an extended period at a low temperature so they are very crispy. The only downside is that the Urban Gourmet is very popular and delivery can be slow. more

Great, quick, yummy 8/18/2005

This is my favorite restaurant in my neighborhood- located in Ball Square in Somerville. A 10 minute walk from Davis Square (on the Red Line). They have a wide variety of food, everything is affordable. Everything is home made, which is great...but sometimes they run out of the specials for the day. They have delivery, carry-out or you can eat there. It is definitely the best if you get home from work and don't feel like cooking, but want good food. Urban Gourmet has awesome meatball sandwiches. There chicken is my favorite. Definitely give it a try!! more
