I guess I should have known from the name, but this place is not really where I wanted to get cat food. The place is crowded and dusty and I wondered how old the cat food was. Having said that, the tiny selection of non-fish supplies was pretty good, with decent brands, and the owner was helpful. Open odd hours - call first if you're in a pinch.

My family has been using Lyndell's for years. I now live in New Hampshire and still order from Lyndell's for Brithdays and special occasions! It's totally worth the trip!!!
And the family tradition carries on...everytime we go to pick up a cake we have to get two half-moon pastries to eat right away!

Ace Wheelworks has all the latest bikes, but they'll still take good care of your 1960's touring bike. There is one guy there who specifically knows the old bikes and sometimes they've held my jobs for him. They won't mess around unless they know what they're doing. I like Ace because they don't talk down to you and they'll do little jobs, like fixing a kickstand or adjusting a chain, for free. I've learned a lot going there as the employees explain what they're doing to my bike. If your three-speed needs a serious overhaul, you might want to spring for Ferris Wheels down in JP, but I have faith in Ace on this side of the river.

Jerry's Liquors is right near my house, so, of course, this is where we go to buy any type of alchohol. However, after the great experiences I have had here, I would travel to this liquor store! The store is always clean, well lit, and welcoming looking on the inside and out. The staff is incredibly helpful! Just tonight, I was getting ready for a little party I am hosting tomorrow night. One staff person first helped me to attempt to locate an obscure type of liquor I needed for baking. When it became clear that they didn't have it, he even made recommendations as to places in the area that might! When I told him I needed to buy a few bottles of champagne, he took the time to explain the differences between the different types and brands. I would really recommend this place!

Kanpp Video is located right in the middle of the student ghetto next to Harvard. Their business is good despite the paucity of the selection. This store has some of the basics and many new releases, but they often fail to deliver in the foreign and indie film area. Knapp does have specials on some nights and also sells a wide range of snacks. Prices are in line with the big chain rental stores.

Great service. They are really taking care of your cats/dogs. They also do pet grooming which is really handy. While they do pet sitting, I usually ask them to do the washing as well so I am not wasting my time. They really care with your pets, and are dependable. I would recommend them to you

If you go into Cibeline, you can often find the store's namesake sitting at the desk or working at the sewing machine. She has designed many of the store's clothes and her style is fitted, retro and fun. She favors bright colors and any girl would look good in one of her party frocks. She also has a carefully selected array of clothes and shoes made by others, as well as some sparkly jewelry (cocktail rings only $12 for major bling). It's not cheap to shop here, but there are also regular sales, and hey, you are buying right from the designer.

This bookstore always has something to empty my wallet. Spanning the dewy decimal system from religion to history this store has you covered. The focus is mainly on academic books with a smattering of fiction and a collection of rare books. McIntyre and Moore is open late everyday and has wonderful, unobtrusive customer service. Prices here are surprisingly reasonable.

They carry some really cute clothes and have a large retail space so it never feels packed. Appeared as though they had a loyal following when I visited. Jeans, t-shirts, sweaters, ponytail holders... their stock caters to the urbanite that just wants to chill out and look good.

I like to visit Goodwill every so often to see if there are any treasures to be had. My husband and I once found a vacuum there for $10 that looked like it had never been used. We are still convinced they sold us a vacuum that accidently belonged to them :) This particular location is a good one - they have a giant downstairs filled with electronics, dishes, and anything you could picture at a yard sale. I recommend it!
