Not impressed with Tower City Ampitheate 12/18/2002

The Tower City Ampitheater is a highly overrated parking lot. After attending two concerts at the ampitheater, I simply cannot believe that artists actually concede to play there. My spouse and I only attended the second show there because it was our favorite group. The Nautica complex is much cleaner, the sound is better, the stage is really a stage, and there isn't a bad seat in the house. The latter results in a much more satisfying venue for which to see shows. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that more concerts will be scheduled at Nautica rather than the TC Ampitheater next year. Cons: It's a Parking Lot, Unclean, Parking more

This 'amphitheater' is not worty... 9/3/2002

of the fine musicians that play there. Just say Dream Theater/Joe Satriani lastnight (9/3/02) and, although the performances were outstanding, the sound quality sucked. Accoustics are total trash. The sound flys out of the TENT, bounces off a big brick building and comes back in trashing all high-end frequencies. Also, the seats are tie-wrapped side-by-side. NO comfort space. And the seat in front of you is about 5 inches away from your seat. NO COMFORT. Dont both with this place, wait till your favorite band comes somewhere else close to you. Pros: Great bands, Big bathrooms, Lots of food/drink Cons: Accoustics suck, Seats too close more

Cheap excuse for a pro music venue! 8/18/2002

What the hell is this?! I guess the joke is on Cleveland! The profit margins have to be huge because the place is so cheap! - a tent in a parking lot with some folding chairs. With the musicians they book & the ticket prices they're charging, I would expect a REAL amphitheatre! My hopeful thinking is that this is just the temporary structure, but I haven't seen or heard any indication of that. Pathetic. Pros: good acts Cons: crappy venue, acoustics suck more

This is an amphitheater? 5/30/2002

I don't think that folding chairs under a big tent on a parking lot constitutes an amphitheater. The smell of the asphalt made my eyes water, and the seats were so close that there was no leg room. Also, with no incline (which ALL other amphitheaters that I have attended have), it was difficult to see the stage, and I was only about a third of the way back. Nowhere in the web site does it mention the specific types of seats. If I had known I'd be sitting on a folding chair in a parking lot, I would not have paid $45 (plus service fees) and driven two hours. The parking areas were ample, but getting out after the concert was a nightmare. The parking lots are narrow and the streets out of the area are small. They get great enterainers, but need to "beef up" the facility. Cons: No incline, folding chairs, It's a parking lot! more
