The Tavern On Park

We found a great one! Food is great, patio is fantastic, Kids eat FREE...... We now eat here all the time. We can't find a better value for the price and get such great food. We try other place's, but they can't compare. more

This place is in a great location - right by Park and Woodlawn Roads. They have a really nice outdoor seating area; good food and ambience. The staff are always very pleasant and helpful. Do check them out for lunch, dinner or after work get-togethers. You won't be sorry. more

Have been coming here for lunch with friends or business associates since TOP opened and have also held several business group functions here. Food is very good; price is affordable and reasonable; management is very eager to please. Wait staff has at times been a bit slow, but when looking at my overall visits consistently, I can't think of a better casual dining place to go for what you get. more

We decided to eat here Friday just for something different. First, we were seated at a dirty table. I mean dirty with large food pieces. It took us 10 minutes to get our drinks and then almost 40 minutes for our food. At one point, when I got the attention of my waiter to ask to add a salad, she looked at me and said "I will be back in a little bit..." WHAT! My meal was supposed to come with a potato (nowhere present) and the waitress said "No. it didn't". So it was just grilled chicken and asparagus? Then, my meal was on special and we were charged regular price.I didn't even say anything as all I wanted to do was get out of that place. more

Just had dinner at my first "local" spot and disappointed doesn't begin to describe the experience. First, the service is non-existent. The waitress took our appetizer order and didn't come back for 20 minutes to take our dinner order. The dinner was incorrectly prepared and had to be sent back. Little requests such as an extra salad dressing and top for our child's drink went unanswered. The only fast thing about this place was accepting the payment. My girlfriend worked in the food service industry for years and couldn't bring herself to leave more than a 10% tip. The food is mediocre at best. The menu says "1 lb. of wings" but we only received six small wings/drums for our appetizer. The hamburgers were average and the salad... well, it's pretty hard to mess up salad. My husband and I went here for lunch on a sunday. A friend suggested it and we loved the patio. We both had salads and mimosas. The service was enjoyable and we felt like we weren't rushed. We will go back in the future. Pros: patio Cons: not sure more

I have been to this place more times than I care to admit simply because it's so convenient. Located in the Park Road Shopping area (the new one with Jason's Deli), it offers a good alternative when you have a group of people who cannot decide on where to go. The drinks here are by far the best thing this place has going for it. Thursday evenings the drink specials are 2nd to none at 1/2 off all liquor drinks. They also have 50cent wings on Thursday if you are hungry. On Saturdays they have $10 buckets and inexpensive draft drinks. Now for the food. I cannot say that I am blown away by it, but its good. All of the food seems fairly fresh and I personally have not had a meal that I did not like. I have been out with friends before and they have been let down by both the quality and quantity of the food given. Once with the shrimp and grits and the other with one of the chicken sandwiches. All in all it's a decent spot to just go and grab a bite with some friends and have a few drinks after work or before going out. Went to the Tavern on Park for lunch yesterday and had the Italian Pizza. It was the best I have had around here and I just moved down from NY. It was so good I went there tonight for dinner. The service was like no other, and I ordered the Surf n' Turf special. Yet again, I was very pleased!! A keeper for me!! Pros: Service, Food, Specials Cons: None more

My friends and I have started leaving the Crowded Myers Park Trendy Bars and traveling to the Tavern on Park. The atmosphere has changed since the first time we went and turned more into a tavern. Tvs and great food!! The staff was very good. The specials were awesome!! We went for the Super Bowl and had a awesome time!! We go there for every game we want to watch now instead of all the small and regular bars around town with expensive tabs... I would recommened the Tavern On Park to anyone!! I took my family to this restaurant for lunch today. Service was horriffic and the food was badly prepared. In particular, it took them an hour (at lunch hour!) to bring us our food. That's after they kept us waiting fifteen minutes to order after we sat down. When they did, they brought it piecemeal (for example, they brought out my fries three minutes after I finished my burger). The steak on my wife's steak salad was literally raw. When confronted with the bloody steak, the manager asked whether my wife ordered it that way (the waitress had never asked how the steak should be prepared). Overall, the restaurant was very understaffed (one waitress for the entire place) and the kitchen seemed overwhelmed. I would never go to this place again. No wonder it was nearly empty. Plus, for what it is (crappy bar food in a bad atmosphere with indifferent service), the entrees were expensive. Pros: None Cons: See below. more

I live nearby and so this is an easy place to go. The atmosphere is very nice, with a neighborhood bar feel but still a nice restaurant. The food is pretty good, but can definitely sometimes be on the smaller side. I'm a girl and finished the pasta without being too full, so I can imagine a guy would still want more after finishing it. The menu is limited too. I now stick with the flatbreads, which are tasty and filling. Pros: Nice place Cons: Limited menu and small dishes more

The atmosphere was great but the shimp abd grits are terrible. You get 4 shrimp in your grits for 12.99. The should call it grits garnished with a few shrimp. more

Just visited t on p for the first time in a while..looks like the changed around the interior a bunch. I had to mention i like it a lot better than the old set-up. It feels much more like a neighborhood rest/bar now which is what it was lacking before. Props for the upgrade more

Recently had a large group for dinner in the private dining room at Tavern on Park. Food was great and the service, exemplary. They also have a beautiful outdoor dining area overlooking the fountains and patio below. Would highly recommend them for parties of 8 or more.
