Las Vegas is what you make it! 2/21/2006

I've been going to Las Vegas twice a year for almost 9 years. After reading the listed reviews, I was amazed! If you want things to do, all you have to do is look for them. I see new things every trip, not just shop (which we rarely do) and gamble (only in the evenings!) Red Rock Canyon, Valley of Fire, Mt. Charleston to name a few. There's a lot more to Las Vegas than just casinos and The Strip! There is plenty of good food cheap and I have hardly ever had to wait to see anything. Took my 16 yr old daughter out last June and we had a ball seeing the Sunset Stampede, Masquarade in the Sky Show, Bellagio Fountains, Madame Tussauds, the list goes on and on. Las Vegas has something for everyone if you are willing to do your homework! Viva Las Vegas!! Pros: Lots to see & do!, Great food!, Attractions galore! Cons: Really hot in Summer, Lots of Walking!, Sidewalk card people more

Nice place to visit 8/28/2005

We took daughter for 17th B'day. We do not gamble. Take the night tour w/ Showtime , excellent. Took Hummer tour thru Hummers 4 us....driver Richard...Grand Canyon , lunch w/ Hualapei Indians & other stops...TOTALLY AWESOME!Did Lake Meade,Hoover Dam, lunch, Ethel M's & botanical garden w/Showtime ... wonderful...Stayed at Stratosphere, wonderful accomm..Got a power pass for museums, habitats etc... well worth $ & time !Most tours pick you up at hotel .Many wonderful things to see &do!!! Pros: cheap food/drink/souv, beautiful scenery, met great people Cons: scam artists, need better transport, WHOLE LOT OF WALKING more

Expensive 8/26/2005

Pack your purse and an extra credit card, even if you aren't gambling. Everything is expensive and they charge for EVERYTHING! It was hard to find decent and reasonably priced food. Attractions were mediocre. We stayed at Paris, wonderful place, but overpriced. Be prepared to wait for dinner anywhere, or to wait for attractions. Go see--We will Rock You in Paris, it's a great show! Pros: Exciting, Variety Cons: Transportation, Expensive, teen unfriendly more

vegas is for adults truly. i've been twice and will go again but it's really only if you want to see bright lights and gamble. nothing much to do except gamble and shop and eat (none of which i mind doing) so it's great. can get super hot during the summer but it's great to drop in a casino/hotel to cool off!! more

Vegas is soooooooooooooo fun!!!! 4/21/2005

I have been to Vegas twice and they don't call it ""Sin City"" for nothing! My boyfriend and I got a beautiful jacuzzi suite at New York New York - Not a jacuzzi bathtub, a giant hot tub. If you aren't really into clubbing, there are myriad bars and it's legal to drink on the strip while walking around. There is always something fun but if you need to get away from the flashing lights and constant slot machine sounds, only 45 minutes away is Hoover Dam. You can take a helicopter ride to the Grand Canyon, rent a Ferrari to cruise around in for the night, or just get room service in your room. The Bellagio offers a variety of fancy stores like Gucci and Versace which you can pretend to afford while brousing - and everyone that works there is really nice. Vegas is definitely an adult spot. Pros: Crazy themed casinos, Party Party Party!!!, Tons to do Cons: Loud, Hangover, Tons to do more

The Strip 2/17/2004

Warning, this is truly an adult disney world, children should be left home. There everthing from simply gawking at the themed hotels to a NASCAR track driving experience. By-the-way there's gambling there also! There aren't many places where you can see a larger than life Sphinx then go through a castel to face a replica Statue of Liberty, while walking across the Brooklyn Bridge. I watched a broadway show, a top name headliner in the evening and the next morning went to see a natural wonder of world...I mean the Grand Canyon not the Luxor Pyramid. That afternoon we took a romantic gondola ride with an Opera signing rower. Beware, if you are not up for the fast and furious then maybe a national park camp site may be a better choice. But if you're up for a party then here it is. Pros: Buffet, buffet, etc.., Party Atmosphere, Plenty of attractions Cons: , Too much to do more

Vegas Shegas 8/27/2003

I just came back from Vegas. Doubled my money, but that wasn't enough to keep me interested. I was frequently bored. Vegas is all about excessive waste. There is nothing orginal or true about any of it. There is nothing to do but gamble or shop, and the truth is once you've seen one casino you've seen them all. If I'm going to spend money on a plane ticket just to go shopping and see shows I'd rather go somewhere real - like New York or Chicago. Besides, I'm from New Orleans, and so don't have to go any further than the French Quarter to have real fun. Pros: leaving, friendly staff Cons: everything else more
