Bottle service is excellent, and not too too pricey. The service was great a little crowded but they got their job done. Bartender mixed me a couple of her own specialty drinks an...

The truth is that Tao Las Vegas has a high employee turnover rate. You can always find 'now hiring' ads in sleazy newspapers as explained to us by our informed & sympathetic waitr...

Trendiest sushi in Vegas! 11/22/2006

I've been to a lot of sushi places in Vegas that tries to be trendy and inventive but Tao is still the best. The wait for a table can take a while, even if you have a reservation, but you can pass the time at the lounge area (which has awesome cocktails by the way). Other than the wait, I could not find anything to complain about. Definitely worth a visit! Pros: Great sushi, great ambience Cons: Long waits more

Asian Dining Experience 11/21/2006

I can't comment on the nightclub but the restaurant was on its game this past weekend. I tend to grade restaurants based on the knowledge of the waitstaff, quality of the food & service and overall ambiance. Our waiter knew the menu well and could not only describe the options but the subtle nueances of each dish. His recommendations for options were based on our tastes and not price which can be the case in many situations. The sushi was very fresh and an acceptable grade with good coloring. The lobster dumplings were perfect and set the tone for the meal. As for overall ambiance, while there were a number of large parties in the restaurant, it remained an environment where you could hold a conversation without screaming at one another. And finally, we arrived ten minutes early for our reservations and we were promptly seated. They did not overbook and hope the tables would clear in time for us. Nothing irritates me more than to have a reservation and then have to wait for my table because the restaurant can't figure out its table turns. Pros: Quality Japanese inspired cuisine Cons: Not your average Denny's menu. You need to be a bit adventuresome. more

Good food, great restarant design, nightclub is okay 11/21/2006

I have been to both the restaurant and nightclub at Tao and I know more about food than nightclubs so I'll focus there. The space and decor is great, it's a nice place for groups with enough background noise that you don't feel self-conscious but can still hear each other. The food was generally good - small plates were great and main dishes very good but I would suggest going elsewhere for sushi. The wine list wasn't bad and they had a nice special on 2002 Silver Oak for $110 - the main drawback was that not much on their menu was complemented by a good cabernet. Pros: Great atmosphere, some very good dishes, nice wine list Cons: Sushi not very good, server was fairly cluless more

Always good! 11/16/2006

If you want to make sure you have a good time TAO is the place as it is consistent with cool people, staff and good drinks and the bathtub thing is especially cool. Pros: Always decent Cons: Crowd more

Crowded and Overpriced 11/13/2006

This place was nice and looked very cool. The bad thing was that it was way overpriced and way too crowded. You can't even dance because there is no room. It took about 30 min to order a drink at the bar that was way too expensive anyway. If you want to dance and spend less money go to a less trendy spot and save your money. It was a good experience but not worth it. Pros: Good appeal Cons: Crowded and overpriced more

Love this place!! 11/8/2006

Great huge space and wonderful music. Tao is one of my favorites in Vegas and the door guys are wonderful. Hot staff and good drinks! Pros: Wonderful space, Great Music Cons: Possible long lines more

Great DJ, fun people-watching and efficient bar staff 11/5/2006

I went to Tao with a group of friends on the Friday night over Labor Day weekend. We got there around midnight and the line was INSANE. I guess no more insane than any other major nightclub on the last official weekend of summer but since I'm not the most patient gal, I was a little daunted. Thankfully some of the guys we were with knew a girl who was having dinner there that night and she charmed the bouncers into letting us into the club after having a few drinks in the downstairs lounge. We were a group of 4 guys and 2 girls. They made us all pay the cover but since I wasn't waiting in line I wasn't about to complain. The DJ was playing the best music, but the dance floor made dancing nearly impossible. It was just one large mass of people swaying and bumping hips, elbows. One thing I was totally impressed with was that no matter how packed the place got, the wait at nearly every bar (except for the one nearest the dance floor) was more than reasonable. Sometimes service was surprisingly quick. I would definitely check out this club if you're in town and have the time. Get there early and if you're a group of guys enlist a few females to join your group to help get you in quicker. Pros: Good music, interesting decor and great people-watching. Oh yeah, and great bar staff! Cons: Was EXTREMELY crowded. more

Decent food, eclectic fun unique atomosphere 11/2/2006

I made reservations, and was seated promptly. The decor was very nice, unique. The red back wall with the large Budha statue was enjoyable to look at. We tried the wonton crip appetizer, I had the Tao chicken. The food was good, however, a bit overpriced. The prices are more for the atmosphere. If you are looking for a trendy, fun place to go, that food quality isn't quite up to its prices, then Tao is your place. Pros: Fast seating with reservation, decor Cons: a bit overpriced more

service good, food not so much 11/2/2006

Drinks were great, service was great. Our food took awhile and was not so good. I had a fish entree and it seemed not fresh at all. The appetizers were good, the dessert was creative and decent. But they entrees ruined the whole experience. I will not return to dine here. Pros: service Cons: value, food quality more

Not worth the price 11/1/2006

The only reason we ate here was because we thought we would be able to get into the club afterwards, but the guys we went with still had to pay! The food was just okay for the price, and even though we had a reservation (at 11 pm!!!) we still had to wait like 30 minutes. Good thing it was vegas and were going to stay up late anyways and had had a few drinks! more

Too Crowded 10/30/2006

It's easy for girls to get in. Also, the downstairs bar/lounge and restaurant areas are luxe and spacious. However, when you go upstairs to the dance floor, it's tiny and literally roped in. There's no room to move, let alone dance. The music is good, and this is supposedly one of the top clubs in Vegas, but I wouldn't recommend it for anything more than unique visuals in the club. Pros: Unique ambience, supposedly one of the hottest clubs in Vegas Cons: CROWDED, CROWDED, CROWDED!!! more

Great place 10/29/2006

Food was great, had the Kobe beef carpaccio on the recomendation of our waiter and it was delicious. The service was great. Our waiter, Nick, not only had some great recommendations, he was friendly and attentive the whole time, and he even remembered us when we came back later, and he had the VIP hostess stamp us so we could get into the club without waiting on line. Pros: food, service Cons: nothing (expensive, if you're one of those) more

go here 10/26/2006

definitely go to Tao when you are in vegas. The decor is very cool. The DJ plays good music. Go on the early side if you are a guys. Girls will have no problem getting in. If you can't get in to the club, you can hang out in the restaurant part downstairs that get's crowded later in the night. Getting into vip here is tricky, but it really doesn't matter because the rest of the club is fun and has a good crowd. Check it out before it gets played out. Pros: decor, music Cons: none really, maybe a wait in line more

Just pause in the entrance... 10/20/2006

and you will get a good sense of the place. Just like so much of the upscale areas of Las Vegas, there is a lot of attention to over the top design and the minute you walk through the flower decked tunnel to the Giant Buddha surveying the room, you know you are in an unusal place. It is one of the few place able to transform from dining to dancing really well and very worth the stop. more

Bad Service...loud music....have to scream @ the dinner table... 10/19/2006

Ambience is good. The food is just ok...nothing spectacular..it's like bad asian food in a very fancy place...not worth your money. The music is way too loud @ the dining area...you would have to literally scream to talk at the table. The staff is not friendly at all. They would not even come back to ask if we needed anything after bringing our food over. No excuses since it was a late thursday night dinner at 11pm,it was not crowded at the restaurant. would never go back and definitely a NO NO !!! Pros: Ambience Cons: Way too loud music while dining. more

great atmosphere 10/18/2006

Tao was great. recently went there with 7 girls for the weekend, and had no problem getting in. We had such a great time. Although the back VIP was really crowded, we made friends with a Bachelor party. Lots of men were there. Lots of handsome men... Pros: good music Cons: too crowded more

Fabulous 9/17/2006

What a great spot...our group got in by dropping a name of someone who had a table...no waiting in line for us..They had the best music - a great mix of old w/the new...The crowd was fun & cute...This is a great place to get a table...We didn't have one but glad some friends did...totally worth it...All in all it's highly recommended. Pros: gorgeous space, amazing music more

Waste of Time for the Money 9/4/2006

My group and I have never had a problem going to Tao until this past weekend. We always get a table, and reserved a table for 5 bottles this past labor day weekend. Everyone has always been nice and good to us. I will admit, I haven't been to Tao for 4 months. We had nice mix of girls and boys. The door guys made us wait 45 minutes for no reason. We finally got the table, and told we needed to buy a 6th bottle even though they had promised 5 bottles. After relenting, we finally said yes after they gave us a discount on the bottle. Music is alright, the crowd was alright too, and it's a sardine can in there. For a club that boasts to be a large club, they fill the place way too much where it becomes borderline uncomfortable and the club doesn't manage space very well. Security guards don't know what they are doing. The waitress couldn't get out drinks straight and would disappear for 30 minutes. We finished the 6 bottles, but only to have people bump into us all evening. I'd recommend this place before this club got attitude and started charging 6 bottles for a party of 15 people on a long weekend. Yes, I know we might have gotten on of the best tables in the house, but 6 bottles for 15 people is rather crazy. But, if people pay, i guess you can expect the club to charge it and still have attitude about it. It's a rip off, but then again most all clubs are like this on a long weekend. I don't see this club lasting long in terms of quality places to go in Vegas. I think management hasn't gotten worse. If I am going to spend $3K for a night out, I would expect to get better service. Pros: Nice themed club Cons: Horrible management and security guards, Hosts don't really care about customers, Too expensive more

Very crowded 9/3/2006

Tao is a very nice club. It is gigantic! The only problem is they let way too many people in, so if you want some space, this probably is not the best place to go. There are a few different rooms, and an upstairs and downstairs. If you are going to go and don't like crowds, don't go on Friday night. Pros: ambience Cons: overcrowded more

If you can deal with the usual b.s. you'll love this place. Otherwise don't bother. 8/9/2006

If you are interested in the club you will have to come to terms with the longest lines in Vegas (1-2 hrs). Your best bet is to get your hands on VIP passes and/or grease the bouncers. Upon entering in the club, you will find the place very crowded starting Thursdays. As such, you may have to squeeze through the crowd just to have the honor of ordering their overpriced drinks. If you can over look these inconveniences the dance music will not disappoint; neither will the shee-shee zen-like decor if that impresses you. Also, the place will be generally filled with good looking people with the girl/guy ratio close to 50/50. more
