The kids had a great time taking their photo down by the beach. We got a great family photo and so did my cousin and we were able to also get a wonderful shot of all the cousins by the water with their image reflected in the ocean!! more

I love the baby plan! 8/1/2007

I have been a member of Susan Henry's Baby plan for the past year. The plan helps me remember to get my daughter photographed at the major milestones, 3,6,9 and 12 months. I have really enjoyed these sessions. Its been amazing to be able to go back and actually see beautiful portraits of her chronicling all the changes! Susan and her assistant always make us feel that we are their only concern while we're there. This really matters when your child is a little shy! They take time to play with her and can sense when she is ready to go back to the studio and when she needs a few more minutes! Because of this - I always get the best portraits! She plays, laughs and poses great for them. I did not realize how special this was until I visited my Mom and brother out of town. We tried to get a portrait of the cousins together - but the photographer from a national chain studio just pushed us around and was not very nice to the kids. Consequently we did not get any good photos. Then they were pushy about the picking the final portraits. I love portraits and want to take the time to pick the right ones - but they were not helpful. At Susan Henry's, Jennifer really helps us see the difference and does not push us into purchasing anything. I get to take my time and they have toys for my daughter to play with. They just seem to love what they do- and it shows in their photography!. After my experience at the chain studio, I know Susan will be my photographer of choice from now on. Pros: Great posing, timing, lighting and photography Cons: I always like to many of the images! more

Great Photographer 6/26/2007

I first met Susan when she was hired by my husband's parents to photograph the whole extended family. She did a fantatsic job gettting 21 people 8 of which were kids - 4 under 4 to look happy and natural. That was at the beach and it is still a great portrait - we all love it. I have it on my wall. She was great at arranging eveyone and listening to what everyone wanted and then creating a unique portrait. She also photographed all the individual family's which was really nice. It was a fun and relaxing experience. The I got a postcard about a park portrait special during the holidays. My kids had changed lot in the last two years -so I thought I would be good to take advantage of the special and get an updated portrait. This time is was just my family and the boys. Susan and her assistant spent alot of time with me going over the best color and styles of clothes to wear. That really helped out alot. For my husband and I's engagement portrait -the photographer (not her) gave us no clue about what to wear and it was a disaster! It really is important to plan for this part of the portrait and if your photographer doesn't help you - they probably are not the right photographer for you. Anyway she really had great suggestions and was always patient with questions. The quality of the final portraits has been superb. The best quality portraits I have ever got. In this case you get what you pay for. I reccomend her to everyone I know. more

I highly reccomend doing this 6/26/2007

My Mom arranged for a session on beach in Galveston with Susan Henry Photgraphy. I thought it was a great idea - when she arranged it because we have not had a family portrait taken in years. Now my brother and I are married and have started our familys so things have changed alot since the last one. \r I was impressed that they took so much time with us on the phone and in person before the seesion helping us plan all the little details that end up being big details - like coordinating clothes styles and colors, shoes, which drinks to bring for the kids that won't stain ... they covered all the details and it really helped us relax and know that we were going to get an great portrait.\r I have to admit that I was a little skeptical about getting two small children and 6 adults to co-operate and then my Mom and brother added their dogs to the portrait and I really had little faith that we would get anything at all. But when Susan showed up, she just took charge and put everyone at ease all at the same time. She was fantastic with the kids. She was able to get their attention and make them smile and yet give them a break when they needed it. And at the same time she was able to get the dogs to perk up and make my Dad laugh. I still don't know how she did it all. My family has a vacation home on the island & we spend alot of time there relaxing - so we planned our portrait on the beach. This was great advice as well - it seemed much more of an intimate family moment caught in a portrait than a posed uncomfortable studio portrait. Everyone's personality's coming out - I just treasure these portraits. I also loved that they were able to retouch the fly way hairs. It looks natural - not completely perfect or over retouched - just right. This kind of quality portraits and experience is not cheap though. But when I put the portrait on the wall - it was worth every dime I paid and really even more! I will def. be back now that 2nd baby is on the way. \r \r Pros: Too much to list here! Cons: None really! more

HIghly Reccomended Photographer! 2/24/2007

Susan photographed my family and I was extremely pleased with the portraits. She worked wonders with all the small children - while keeping the adults laughing and having fun too! It was a big group of 22 people - so it was no small feat. She was easy to work with and offered great advice on what we should all wear and just gave us tips that made the whole experience and final portraits priceless. Her fees were in line with other professional photographers - but her service, quality, proffesionalism and attitude were much better than other photographers we have used. She fixed our hair (blowing a little) and even made a few us look a little younger and thinner- which we REALLY appreciated!\r \r I would (and do) reccomend her to everyone. Pros: The outstanding customer sercvice, the top quality portraits and the talent to capture the right moment when everyone was relaxed and happy. Cons: I didn't find her sooner! more
