Studio 180 Salon 7/19/2008

I am very sorry that you were not satisfied with your hair services at our salon- we try very hard to make sure that everyone leaves with a smile on their face! We use very high quality Schwazkopff color, and have generally had fewer problems with scalp sensitivity, but everyone is different. Sometimes, the client/stylist vision is not a match, and although we always try to provide a thorough consultation, this can occur. Fortunately, we seem to be able to meet the needs of most people that visit Studio180 Salon, and we are so happy to have a devoted local following. Please let us know if a refund is necessary, we will be happy to oblige. Pros: Great location, parking and service! more

Not the best experience 7/9/2008

I do not generally write reviews, partly because I know that bad reviews can affect someone's livelihood. But I selected this Salon based on the glowing Citysearch reviews, and I had a bad haircut and color at this salon, and I went back and asked for correction for the haircut and came out again looking bad. I went in with highlights that had gotten brassy, and while the haircut I had when I went in was not my all time favorite, as it had some layers that were out of control, it did not look nearly as bad as after the haircut I got here. The stylist cut my hair with the largest scissors I've ever seen in a salon - they looked like pruning sheers almost. Then, she evidently texturized my hair with smaller scissors, and I then had split ends in the layers around my face of my shoulder length hair. I've not had split ends since I was a teen and my hair was really long and was rarely cut and had too much Sun In. I do not know how she did such a bad job, but it looked really bad. Since I gave her a chance to redeem the cut, I feel justified in writing a negative review. In addition, my scalp itched and I had a good bit of hair loss after the color, so it may be that I was allergic to the color product used. While I was there, the stylists kept talking about what great service they provide, but I saw at least 3 other clients in and out, and honestly, none of them had fabulous looking hair. Perhaps I just went in on an off day, but I will not be going back. I'm sorry to give a bad review, but it was not worth the money in the least, and it was not cheap.\r \r After that, I did not have anything done for almost 2 months, but I have now gone to a new Salon - the difference is like night and day. Pros: Lovely salon, nicely decorated, clean, parking good, easy to get to, nice owner/stylists. Cons: Bad haircut, color OK but not interesting, scalp itched after service. more

Best studio in the triangle!!! 4/16/2008

I moved to the triangle area from the West coast 11 years ago and spent 2-3 years trying to find a stylist that could compete with my previous salon on the West coast. Anna was the ONLY stylist that met my high expectations! When I first moved here, I called every single salon in the area and asked about ""dimensional highlights"". None of them knew what I was talking about, except for the salon that Anna was working in at the time. Flash forward 10 years later - most salons have started using the ""dimensional' technique, but Anna was one of the first in the area doing so and she remains THE very best! Her eye for color amazes me! Anna consistently EXCEEDS my expectations, not only is she well trained but she is truly artistically gifted. \r \r Pros: skill, customer service more

The BEST hair salon in the Triangle, relaxing atmosphere, highly talented!!! 3/15/2008

I found Studio 180 on citysearch last week, and after reading all the good reviews, I decided to give it a try. I moved from Boston 2 years ago and had been searching for a great hair stylist to give me the perfect color and style in the Triangle area. I will look no further! Anna did a FABULOUS job on my hair. She got the color perfect (which is not always easy with blonde highlights, I've found) and she cut my hair to perfection. She is extremely knowledgeable and pays attention to details; she really knows what she is doing. I highly recommend this salon! It has spirit, style, incredible talent... you must try! Pros: 20% off 1st visit coupon, best hair cut & color, atmosphere Cons: can't think of ANY! (that's when you know you've found a good salon!) more

Great Experience! 2/26/2008

I have lived in Raleigh for over 15 years, and had yet to find a place to tackle my hair--Until now!! I have very thick, curly and frizzy hair! Fran spent over an hour with me--she was very patient as I tried to decribe what I wanted. She constantly reviewed the pictures I had brought in and talked me through everything she was doing. She is very detail oriented and went above and beyond my expectations! Thanks Fran\r P.S. The owner, Anna is also very personable and friendly, and quick to set up appointments. Pros: Very friendly, talented Cons: I am a north Raleigh Girl! more

I've only just made an appointment 2/15/2008

Let me tell y'all something: If the receptionist is a snotty, rude B-word like the lady I called at Mitchell's in crossroads just a few minutes ago, I wouldn't make an appointment there because they're all probably catty wenches, including the stylists. So, I'm desperately searching for a salon that can give me great highlights before my wedding. I came across Salon Kroma (they're # 1 on the best of section) but when I tried to sign up for their email coupons, their page wouldn't let me. If they don't update their website, they probably don't update their skills much either. I moved on. Finally found Studio 180, had great reviews here and the appointment setter was the SWEETEST woman over the phone! She offered to give me driving directions and spoke to me like she wanted to make me as happy as I could be. I can't wait to go in tomorrow- hopefully I can review the actual experience too! The initial phone call is so important to a new customer, I just had to share this experience. Thank you Studio 180 for making me feel so welcome!! Pros: Welcoming appointment setter; so kind and considerate! Cons: I have to wait til tomorrow to go to my appointment! I guess that's a good thing. They're busy. more

Wonderful experience 1/15/2008

Anna cut my daughter's hair, a 7 year old with hair like Dianna Ross, and did a wonderful job. My daughter was so pleased with the experience she pleaded with me in the car to only bring her to this salon! What a compliment to Anna! more

great service and they know what they are doing! 8/9/2007

I moved here from VA and could not find a hairdresser who could do my color - believe me I tried - I contacted Anna because my wedding was coming up and I was so afraid of my color being wrong for my special day. I showed Anna photos of my hair before another salon messed it up and she got it right the first time! Don't let the fact that Anna & Fran's customers haven't written a review here recently stop you from coming to this Salon - it's a great and fun place to get your hair done - my husband even commented on how ""lucky"" I am to have a place that has great service and is relaxed and fun. I highly recommend this place!! p.s. - Anna also did my hair and my niece's hair for my wedding and we had SO many compliments on our hair - even from the men attending the wedding!! Pros: ambience is great, located in a good Cary location Cons: none that I can think of more

Beautiful results from thermal straightening and color services! 8/2/2007

My hair is completely gray (I grayed in my 20s) and I have naturally kinky/curly, coarse hair that I have been straightening with drugstore relaxers since I was 13. My hair always required a lot of styling with a styling dryer and straightening iron. When I heard about the new thermal straightening processes available now, I went looking for someone who offers the service in the Triangle area, and I found Francesca at Salon 180. She did both my hair and my teenage daughter's, and the results were amazing! My hair is straight, soft, shiny and healthier looking than it ever has been. And this summer, I've had NO FRIZZ - not even when I was at the beach! My styling time has gone from almost an hour to about 15 minutes, and my hair keeps the style until my next shampoo. I also had been unhappy with my hair color for a number of years. Anna reformulated my color, and it looks beautiful! I get so many compliments on my hair now. I highly recommend this salon! Pros: Stylists' skills, friendly atmosphere more

best of the best 7/17/2006

Fran and Anna are fantastic. A great haircut and color and a lot of fun. They use the absolute best color product that conditions your hair and the color will not fade. A great cut too with attention to getting the right cut for your face. And it's very relaxing but happy and upbeat. A great experience. more

Finally! A salon with style and panache! 1/31/2006

Studio 180 has always been known for their service and excellent color. The new location on Academy Street in downtown Cary definitely added the touch! Theres a reason that this salon was picked as best kept secret in western Wake county and Im so happy that I discovered it! Pros: Atmosphere, Service, Price more

My first salon 11/3/2004

This has been the first salon that I have gone back to since moving to the Triangle about a year and a half ago. They have reasonable prices, and I have been thrilled with my haircut whenever I have gone there - even AFTER washing it and styling it myself. I've finally found my salon and a hairdresser who knows me and my hair! Pros: value, skill of staff Cons: , atmosphere more
