Food & service were fantastic. I will definitely go back again. We were completely under dressed (hoodies & jeans), but the servers & hostess still made sure our glasses were full & that we were happy with the food. more

beautiful atmosphere 5/16/2007

I am happy to say that I found ""The Best"" place to dine in Ahwatukee! Not only is the atmosphere charming, the food is outstanding and the service made us feel as though they really were glad that we came. To have the whole combination nowadays is not easy to find. I will be back often and will be proud to take family when they come in from out of town. Pros: excellent food, service and ambience more

Great Italian Restaurant 5/14/2007

I believe Ruffino's is the best Italian restaurant I have ever eaten in. The atmosphere is very elegant but at the same time very comfortable. The service is wonderful and the servers are very knowledgable, infact the server we had has been working at Ruffino's for 14 years and you could tell he was a true professional. The entrees we had were wonderful, you could tell the Chef really cares about great food! The veal Ruffino with brandy tarragon cream sauce was wonderful. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone! Pros: food & service more

New ownership not good for customers 3/10/2007

We have been dining here since 1994 and have referred many people based on the service and food. At our last visit, and I do mean last, we were greeted by blaring country music when we opened the door. After being seated by a host that didn't greet us, it took 25 minutes to get our menus. It took another 20 before a waiter took our drink order which came in about 10 minutes. We had yet to be asked for our food order. We each ordered a salad and a pasta dish, duck ravioli and spaghetti and meatballs. In the past the duck ravioli were tender, homemade pasta pillows filled with a delicious, hearty filling. The spaghetti and meatballs always tasted like the sauce had simmered for hours. It was evident when our pasta dishes arrived (after another 25 minutes, okay if homemade) that something had drastically changed. The spaghetti was spongy noodles topped with a raw tomato sauce, bright red and soupy. The meatballs were pale and tasteless. But the biggest disappointment was the ravioli. The sauce was very much a tomato sauce unlike the delicate, creamy sundried tomato sauce I was accustomed to here. I was eating the third ravioli before I found enough filling to taste it. I should be happy this was the case because it was horrendous! It was grainy and tasted like pate. It was at this time that the silent host (which turned out to be the new owner) made himself very available to a table of guests that were obviously his friends. He couldn't stop bragging about his limousine that he'd purchased (which took up 3 much needed parking spaces right in front of the door). Our half-full dishes were removed by our waiter without asking if everything was okay. As we were leaving, the host/owner was standing by the door but never said thank you or good-bye. After making the decision to never return to one of our favorite restaurants in the Phoenix area, we headed across the street to satisy our hunger with ice cream. A disappointing evening all around. Pros: takes reservations Cons: blaring music, extremely slow service, terrible pasta dishes, lack of parking more

OUTSTANDING!!! 12/27/2006

Outstanding service, food and atmosphere. They never fail to deliver. You leave with a pleasant experience and mood. A group of us had dinner there last New Year's Eve and we are coming back again this year. Much recommended!!! Pros: great food, ambience, outstanding servers/services Cons: small restaurant and quite popular so reservations are a must more

Pros: Great Food, Price is right, Atmosphere more

Never Misses to Deliver Quality 3/15/2005

I have been frequenting Ruffino's since 1991 and it has never failed to deliver. The Mussel and shrimp cocktail appetizers are phenomenal. As for the main course the fresh fish is always great, along with the Oso Bucco, the canelloni, and the Seafood Ruffino pasta dish. Service is always top notch along with the price. Pros: Food, Service Cons: Parking is Tight, Tough to find more
