Best

It's a great hotel but if any of you are looking to save some $$ then book it at goo.gl/FPxYD They have some of the best hotel deals on the web!

Worst

I really like the Renaissance in Public Square. It's got that big city hotel feel from the outside in. It’s a Marriott, so you know it's...

Exquisite 10/3/2004

Don't know why the other reviewers were so negative on Sans Souci, but we had an absolutely wonderful meal here, from appetizer to dessert. Wood grilled mussels were simply out of this world, as was the poached lobster over polenta. Also an outstanidng wine list. For our entrees we had grilled sea bass and grouper, both of which were prepared to near perfection. Be sure to try the grilled fig salad with goat cheese and by all means save room for dessert!!! A bit expensive but well worth the price. If you want an exquisite meal in French Provencale style, this is definitely the place to go in Cleveland. I hope to return soon. Pros: Quality & style, Attentive service, Outstanding wine list more

Beautiful Hotel 10/24/2002

The rooms in this hotel were recently refurbished. Very tasteful and elegent. The only place I stay when I am in Cleveland. Becuse of the age of the structure you will find the elevators to be slow and some bathrooms are small. Overall the best hotel in downtown Cleveland. Pros: Interior Design, Central Location Cons: Slow Elevators more

Comfy, but old tiny bathrooms 10/9/2002

The hotel offers central location, however it does not have nice views. Moreover, windows are not modern and sound insulation is average. Bathrooms are very old. The hotel is attached to a Tower City mall with a train stop for the direct line to the airport, many fast food outlets, upscale shops and multi-screen cinema. Pros: attached to mall, gorgeous lobby/bar, spacious room Cons: old old bathrooms, gloomy breakfast cafe, average clean more

Too pricey for the money 9/14/2002

While waiting after work for a play to start (no time to go home and then come back downtown), I decided to treat myself at Sans Souci. The food was tasty, but not presented in the fashion I would expect for the price. I would say that you wouldn't regret going there, but you might feel a twinge of disappointment at the average fare, ambience and presentation. I will likely not revisit; there are too many other great restaurants in the city. more

we needed to get away and the stay at the Renaissance and dinner at the San Souci was just what we needed. A wonderful experience. more

Elegance with a layer of dirt 7/19/2002

Needs bigger elevators, quicker parking service, and rooms need cleaned more thoroughly. If this is a historic building, the city needs to get involved in renovating it. Too many good qualitys that fall wayside to their bad health codes. Pros: good location, friendly people Cons: bad garage service, needs exterminated more

  • In Short
Maybe it's the hearthside seating, the farm-country murals, the big windows overlooking Public Square or the worn wood floors, but everything at this warm sanctuary, surrounded by the cool marble of the Renaissance Hotel, says "a night in Provence." Think pan-Mediterranean, starting with flamenco guitar music and continuing through Burgundy wine. Tapenades, tartar and terrine power the menu. Seasonal specials include halibut, duck breast, paella, abbit stew, wood-grilled mussels and garlic-saffron soup.
