This was the best experience I've had purchasing furniture. Once we chose a couch style we liked (Zuma), my wife and I spent a lot of time choosing the perfect fabric. Our salesperson was very helpful in showing us all the styles that suited our tastes. The pricing options are very simply labeled and color coded so you can easily price out any couch you look at. When I walked into The Sofa Company in Santa Monica, I was completely overwhelmed. After searching through rows and rows of different styles, Emily helped me pick a sofa frame to suit my room and my personality. She was amazing with fabric and very patient as I went browsed all the swatches. A few days later, I decided to completely alter the dimensions of the sofa and add bolster pillows. Emily said this was no problem. The result is a completely custom sofa that reflects my taste perfectly. Thanks to Emily, I am a very satisfied customer! more

recently purchased a sofa and a loveseat from the sofa company. wasn't looking forward to the ordeal of shopping, guess i'm a typical guy. luckily the salesgirl that helped me was really friendly, helpful, and just real....she never acted like a pushy salesperson , more like a friend that was genuienly trying to help me since i had no clue what i was doing, that made the experience a lot easier and more comfortable. she gave me enough information so i wasn't totally lost but also enough space and the right times so i could process and think on my own. they have enough fabrics to make anyone happy, you can also adjust the hardness or softness of your sofa to your liking. i've really only dealt with the one person so far but from what i could tell, everyone else that worked there was just as chill, knowledgable and friendly. if your sick of the snobby salespeople in pretty much every other furniture store in los angeles, you need to go to the sofa company. they see you as a person, not as a walking dollar sign. I had been shopping around for a sofa for the longest time. With a new baby there isn't a lot of time to go from store to store to try and find what you're looking for. Sofa Co makes it easy because you design your own sofa so it's exactly what you want. There are so many choices of styles and fabrics etc that you don't feel limited. And there's no pressure from the sales people which is a bonus. Definitely a great experience and highly recommended. more

\r My wife and I just purchased 2 sofas at The Sofa Company and had a wonderful experience. I guess I should say MANY experiences because my wife, bless her shopping soul, went back 8 times, I kid you not. The first 3 times she had a different sales person, each of whom was very helpful and nice. My wife changed her mind on what she wanted each of the 8 trips and we never had anything but a patient helpful reception. \r \r We finally created 2 custom couches in length and width and design. No\r where can you get a couch to match your room - at least not at the 59,000 places my wife dragged me to.\r \r Originally my wife picked out fabric that literally cost a fortune - but the salesgirls pointed out that we could get basic cotton, have it coated with a LIFETIME warranty for less than 1/3rd the cost and look the same. For the first time I was awake - alert - and angels sang. We saved $2300 because of that.\r \r We have nothing to say but good things, and our couches and fabric are warrantied for life. When I was looking for a new sofa, I was not expecting to really get what I wanted. That I would have limited options & have to settle with some designer's choice of what a sofa is supposed to be. I went to a few furniture stores in the area & got just that. When I made my way over to the Sofa Company in Pasadena, it was the complete opposite. I walked in & was greeted by Victoria, who walked through the company's process. All the designs were available to changes that would meet my preferences & room requirements. I was a little nervous about the ""You design it, we build it"" motto. I loved the idea of it but there is usually a cost involved for customization. A cost I usually can't afford. I entertained myself & put together a sofa specifically for me & dreaded asking for the price. I was very surprised on how affordable it was. The style, design, shape, fabric, colors, legs, everything was customized to my preferences. When I needed help, Victoria was there & very patient with me. I walked in ""hoping"" to buy a sofa and walked out on Cloud Nine. All the merchandise was dazzling and I quickly found something I loved. The company's sofa designs are all handsome, with plenty of options to please anyone, and the fabric selections are amazing. I cannot imagine not being able to come away with exactly what you want, no matter how fanciful your sofa dreams may be. Work with your design consultant, and you will get exactly what you want. The service was superb. My consultant, Victoria, could not have been more helpful and inspiring. She listened patiently and, since she knows her stuff completely, quickly came up with good sensible advice and suggestions. I have been searching for a couch for over 4 months now and finally found the perfect couch at the Sofa Company. I looked at couch after couch and there was something that I always didn't like. I looked into the Sofa Company because I heard you could design your own couch. I was skeptical at first because I thought the prices would be ridicuously high, however, I was pleasantly surprised at how reasonable the prices actually were. The staff there is great and they will take lots of time to show you different options and choices so you can create a couch that you will love. Also, there is no pressure, if can't decide on what you want or decide to look elsewhere, then no problem...they are extremely friendly. I designed a couch that I love and got it within my budget.
