Who likes them hot 9/29/2006

This is by far the best restaurant in Erie, PA... When we took our first trip to Splash Lagoon- we heard about this place called Quaker Steak & Lube.. Now the name really turned me off--- But then I heard they claimed to have the best chicken wings in the U.S. so I was back on- During the 3 say trip this is where we ate 2 dinners! All I can say is OMG---- The wings were so good--- they have so many different sauces-- Atomic was the hottest-- the menu said a waiver had to be signed to order these-- Needless to say we didn't try them! Many great positive points to the restaurant... great wings- great service great prices tons of parking- The only bad thing was the wait for the food- We waited almost 1 hour! With 3 families and 4 hungry kids this wasn't fun. But the restaurant is so neat that it didn't matter- All throughout the restaurant there are cool things to look at- cars, pictures, a race boat suspended from the ceiling, disco guitars... I took my daughter around and we looked at all the neat stuff--- I have never been in a restaurant that was this well decorated! I was totally cool. Were the chicken wings the best in the U.S? Not to me--- I'm close to Buffalo---- but they were great! SO if you're in the area--- Be sure to not let the name scare you off--- after all who wants to eat at a place called Lube?? Its a great time! more

Great Wings! 8/10/2006

These are definitely some of the best wings I have ever had. You must try the Louisiana Lickers. They have a unique, yummy taste. They have many different flavors of sauce. There are many different locations between Pennsylania and Ohio. more

Wings!! 8/5/2005

Crowded, energetic atmosphere with wings to die for. The wings are available for all you can eat with a buffet of additional items for a little under $8, they can also be made for takeout in a cute little bucket. They also sell other BBQ items and all the fixens to go with it. My only problem is that they put everything way out on upper Peach Street. more

Dinner or Lunch: Quaker Steak and Lube 7/31/2005

With its sports cars lashed to the wall and motorcycles littering the parking lot and ceiling of this restaurant, it makes the man in your life happy. This is a fun place to eat no matter your age or sex. It is complete with guard rails, racing memorabilia and of course ESPN on the tv. It's bright, airy, and the feeling is family-friendly. It's like picnicing in your husband's dream garage. This is one of eight Quakers in the state. It features garage-themed menu entries. It's known for its wings, but also features burgers, pork sandwiches, salads and if you want alcohol, they'll serve it. There are some diet selections on the menu. The garage salad is in a word disappointing. The boneless wing salad is much better. It comes piled with grilled chicken tenders based in one of their sauces and toasted pita points. A good burger is the Lubeburger, which will get you fat just looking at it. This baby is topped with mushrooms, bacon, hot lube sauce, cheese, and blue cheese dressing. I've been told it's quite tasty. The best deal they have going is the luncheon buffet. For $7.99, it's all-you-can-eat wings, mini tacos, salad, macaroni and cheese, and other hot items. Even if you just ate the salad. Other than that, the prices tend to be high. Appetizers -- wings, onion rings, chicken fingers, pretzels -- range from $4 to 12 and very few are on the low end. Your best value, if you like salad, is to go for the entree salads, even though they ring in at $7.50 and up. In the burgers-and-sandwiches department, there's nothing under $7, and you get chips not fries with that. They're a buck more. Sides, such as coleslaw or baked beans, are $2.30 each. There's plenty to drink. You're going to spend some cash. The wait can tend to be quite long for a table, especially during tourist season. more
