With many locations around the Erie area, you can't miss running into a Country Fair. Their subs are good, freshly made, and reasonably prices. Their coffee is hot and cheap, not $3 a cup, lol! Open 7 days a week, some 24 hours a day.

During the fall, it is a wonderful place to get yummy baked goods, cider, pumpkins and all other kinds of autumn decor. Around Halloween time they have Pumpkin Town USA, with activities for the kids, a petting zoo, face painting, tours, etc. A great place.

Another Erie summer has come and gone leaving us with nine months of cold weather to deal with. Too bad because now you can't enjoy the beauty that is Presque Isle. Beaches, nature trails, beautiful sunsets, bike paths, and more. What else could you ask for. One of the most beautiful things about the Erie area. You could rent a motel room or a cottage and spend a day or two, a week or more at Presque Isle. Go fishing, swimming, skating, bike riding, walking, running, or go to Waldameer Amusement Park (located right at the entrance). There is so much to do. Many locals don't take advantage of this. Too bad.

The Avalon Hotel is a medium sized hotel located in downtown Erie. It isn't the Hilton, Four Seasons or even the DoubleTree, but if you are looking for a nice hotel room you will find it here. The great thing about the Avalon is that it is one of the few hotels within the city. Yes you have a lot of "motels" within the city but the Avalon is a nicer hotel, someplace that you might want to stay for a few days. Located right smack in the middle of downtown Erie, you have access to the Bayfront, the Warner, the Erie Art Museum, Jerry Uht Park, and many other attractions, restaurants and bars, etc. Prices aren't cheap, but standard for a hotel of this caliber. Not luxury, but nice rooms.

Even though this place can get really crowded and crazy, Erie County Farms, Erie's only indoor farmer's market, is a wonderful place to get all of your fresh fruits, vegetables, meats and diary products. The prices are better than what you'd find in a supermarket and buying fresh meats and produce straight from the farm will make you feel good. Occasionally, they will have specials on "name brand" products like ready to bake cookies, etc. Check out ECF and you won't be disappointed. Good quality food. Take a nerve pill before going if you go around the holiday season.

Cedar Point is a wonderful amusement park with tons of exciting rides, great amusement park food, games, and other attractions. Admission is a little over $40 for a pass that lasts you all day. The last time I went to CP, I loved riding on the Demon Drop. It isn't as frightening as one might think. A little pricey, but Cedar Point is well worth it. They also have a nice water park.

For less than $25 per person (even cheaper for those under 3 years of age or those vertically challenged individuals under 48 inches tall) you can have a great time at Geauga Lake Park and Wildwater Kingdom. This park has many different rides for many different age and adventure levels, roller coaster, water rides and much more! More than 50 rides and attractions. I've gone to Geauga Lake many times over the years and each year it just gets better. Whether you are a kid, a teen or an adult, you will have a good time. They also offer bigger discounts for season passes or for group rates.
