Best

Food was great but like a lot of other spots in Phoenix the staff is to young & cant tell you much about the menu, I also over heard others saying the staff was lost in the woods....

Worst

The impression left from eating at this restaurant is that it is crowded, noisy, and expensive. I didn't notice if the food was good because I was straining to hear my companion'...

Editorial review from Citysearch 9/19/2013

I felt like it was all farted out..Not warm enough I guess.Stop saying I came here with money to get to know how you eat your food! Heat the food..wash your hands and face please.Never goin' back. more

Prices TOO HIGH!! 12/9/2011

Love this place until now. Etouffee for $21? Gimme a break!! We have been regulars for 6 years and we've bagged it. Their prices have gone over the top. A damn cup of clam chowder for a little less than $10?? Adios Pappadeaux. more

Excellent cajun food 6/1/2011

I've been there many times. The gumbo is very good and so is the Pasta Mardi Gra. The menu is a little pricey, but you can save by going for lunch instead of dinner. The wait for dinner can be quite long some nights. They have a nice garden too. more

Good Seafood 4/19/2011

The first time I went to this restaurant was with a couple of friends for a lobster night and must tell you the lobster was just excellent. I found this place too crowded and noisy. I am a big fan of seafood and now a BIG fan of Pappadeaux Seafood. more

Food is good but some of the stuff is clueless. 3/7/2011

Food was great but like a lot of other spots in Phoenix the staff is to young & cant tell you much about the menu, I also over heard others saying the staff was lost in the woods. Tiffany gave me the best service & knew a lot about the menu but couldn't tell me how big of a portion I was about to get. I was catching a plane the next morning & didn't want to throw a good meal into the trash. When the plate came to the table it was enough for 3 people & i had to trash Most of it While the staff are talking they need to be observant of whats coming out of the kitchen. ""Hint Hint"" My food was very good. more

Can't wait to go again! Awesome A+ 8/31/2010

I won $25 dollar gift certificate to Pappadeaux's and I am hooked! I've been back 3 times and I always recommend them highly, to anyone that likes good service and mouth watering entrees, or a dozen Oysters, and a cold beer! This is a place you got to try! Just like being down south, good times, great food!!! I love this place!!! more

Good food but way too crowded 3/22/2010

My wife and I first went to Pappadeaux 6 years ago and we fell in love with the Red Snapper with Opelousas Sauce. Unfortunately they haven't had Red Snapper for the past 3 years which considering this company is based out of Houston (right on the gulf coast) I think is ridiculous. Pros: Good food Cons: Lack of variety and over-crowded more

Best Seafood in Valley! 2/12/2010

Has the best fried shimp in the valley! Dont forget to try the Swamp Thing. Great relaxed atmosphere with a cajun flare. It is dark inside so do wear you glasses! Pros: food, atmosphere Cons: pricey! more

Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen: Noisy and Crowded 7/15/2009

Awesome atmosphere Excellent Food 9/28/2008

I have taken one of my best friends to Pappadeaux and I must say, we were highly impressed. The service was fast and efficient and this place has a fun atmosphere that is great for a family night out or a romantic dinner. The only downside is that Pappadeaux is a little pricey. So this is not the place to take a date to if you are on a tight budget. However the food is well worth the price. Pros: Food, Atmosphere, Service Cons: High price more

Pappadeaux the Perfect seafood place! 9/8/2008

I love Pappadeaux! The atmosphere is unique and charming. And the food is delicious. I was impressed with the service and their willingness to please. It is one of my favorite spots to eat! more

Consistently Excellent Food 8/20/2008

My wife and I often plan a drive from Prescott to Phoenix just to have an excuse to dine at Pappadeaux. Use a little self control when ordering as the portions are large. The prices are reasonable for the excellent fare that you get. The staff and management here are wonderful. We're heading there tonight! Get them oysters and gumbos ready! more

Great appetizer, oversized entrees 7/4/2008

We went there for lunch. It is not that crowed. The atmosphere was great, nicely decorated. We had French bread while waiting. We enjoyed the frog legs appetizer. By the time the entrees came, we knew we would not finish them. They were big. My seafood grills was good, but not impressive. The fish was a bit undercooked, no big deal. The shrimps and dirty rice were way too salty. That was a turned off for me. We had Creme Brulee for desert and it was nicely done. I think we will minimized entree next time. more

Good Food 6/17/2008

I have been here a few times and i love their food, i even ate seafood and i am not a fan of ANY seafood, but the way they cooked it was soo good i could'nt even tell i was eating seafood it taste like steak, I believe it was some kind of tuna. Prices are a little high but thats expected if your going to be eating here. This is not a quiet place so its not that great to take a date here unless you like to yell your conversations. All in all i have to say this place is one of my favorite places to eat at. I also tried their alligator and as far as i'm concerned it taste like chicken with a kick. Pros: Good Food, Friendly Staff & Parking Cons: Loud more

Great Lousisiana style food! 10/20/2007

A bit on the bling side.. .but well worth it! We have been there several times and have yet to find anything that we thoughtwas average! Everything was mouth watering and mmmm good! more

plan on waiting, but worth it! 1/26/2007

First of all, I'm not a big seafood eater. I was used to eating seafood that was just baked or broiled with maybe some butter on it with some salt. I had no idea that seafood could be so delicous! The fresh catch of the day has never dissapointed and the creamy sauce that they smother the fish with is out of this world! We always get the fondue to start out with and my wife loves the pasta with creamy sauce, shrimp and crawfish. They also have a large menu of deserts to satisfy even the pickiest of tastes. The ambiance is nice with a garden and fountain style coutyard and live music on the busy weekend nights. We have waited 2 hours before to get in and although that was a tad frustrating we soon forgot all about that when the fondue came out. Don't forget to bring your credit card though because it's not cheap, but the finer things in life never are! Pros: fish specials, dirty rice, vegetables, fondue, calamari Cons: the wait more

Overpriced; Food Tasted Cheap 10/23/2006

I ate here with a group of seven people. I wasn't thrilled with the fried food... too much bread, not enough meat. Service was okay. Building itself was nice. Walked away feeling like the prices to value was a rip off. I wouldn't eat here again, though to be fair, other members of my party were more impressed (none loved it though). more

Wow-impressive! 9/18/2006

The staff is incredibly nice. By far the nicest I've encountered in Phoenix. I even took my mother here while she had a layover because I was so impressed with this place. The atmosphere is incredible. I love the decor. I am not much for spicy or cajun but they still had something just for me. A chicked breast with potatoes that are out of this World. They have a butter sauce as a side with each dish that is incredible. The desserts? Nothing better. Banana pudding in a mason jar that you can take home that is awesome and a lot of very unique choices including my favorite, Creme Brulee. \r Do not miss this place, especially if you have out of town guests!\r Don't even try to go on a weekend night. I think the live outdoor band is a huge attraction which makes for a very long wait. PROS: The food, the staff, the decor, the atmosphere. CONS: The wait on weekend nights. more

Great seafood! 6/2/2005

Pappadeaux has great, fresh seafood! They are family friendly with a great kids menu, and the atmosphere is alittle noisy but relaxed. Try their horseradish crusted halibut or the broiled salmon with alexander sauce. Their exotic drinks are yummy too, and their dessert tray is to die for! They do not take reservations, so be prepared to wait on Friday and Saturday nights! PROS: Fresh seafood; family friendly CONS: Do not take reservations-long wait on the weekends after 5pm more
