was one of the biggest supporters of Mr Bedi. I have now discovered he is an astute cheat.. I called him yesterday to get my family to Pune from SFO. in Dec 2012...He says great, I have a direct flight to Pune with Lufthansa. He went through all his calculations and said $2452. Wow I thought...tickets are almost $2500 now. Never heard of it. When I came to US it was almost half...No choice. I told him what if we go to Mumbai (then by road to Pune). He says Singapore Airlines is a little over $2200, but there is a 6 hour halt in Singapore. Well I said that's a good savings, book that. Then he himself volunteers: if your family comes back on Jan 2-3 night rather than 4-5th night, the fare will be much lower by Lufthansa. He does all the Math and quotes $2150, and slaps himself on the back for getting it lower than Singapore Airlines too. And it is direct to Pune he points out, but of course return from Mumbai (United). He himself says: now that you save $300, you can easily if you choose, buy a local air ticket from Pune to Mumbai...and avoid the long wait in Singapore too. I feel vindicated in my faith in Bedi. I asked him again: so it is $2150 per head and he confirms twice. I go to him the next day to pay him by check and he now asks for $4904 (for two tickets --- $2452 each again). I remind him of our follow-up conversation less than 24 hours ago,...he denies it completely, pretends amnesia. I offer a ladder to him to step down ""maybe the rate went up today and you booked it today"". He says, ""no no, I did it yesterday, the rate is over $3000 today"". Then a few minutes later, he even forgets that and to breed trust shows me his screen ""look my price is is $2400"" (today). So why did he say $3000 today just a few minutes ago (my wife caught that self-contradiction later)? I concluded he saw me drive up in a nice Mercedes with my wife, park outside his window, and his true character emerged. As I walked out, sadly but surely, shaking my head, he did not even once say ""sorry it was a misunderstanding...(please come back)"" . He looked as guilty and unrepentant (as a thief caught with his hands in the cookie jar). And besides, he knows I am the guy who wrote such good reviews about him earlier on the web. My friends call me naive for good reason I realize now ---- this guy is the sly-est, brazen-est thief of all. Upselling to me like a used car salesman -- old Punjabi saying ""grab as much as per (perceived) wealth/status of customer (sameee jitna ...)"" ... I know, I was Punjabi in my previous life (lived there for 5 years). This guy is a scam as a previous review pointed out (I would have totally disagreed with that just 24 hours ago --- now I applaud him for being smarter than me).
