Great Aquarium 12/8/2005

We always bring the family there for a fun day of exploration of sea life. What's great about the aquarium, it has so much information next to the exhibits. The have Sea lIon shows, penguin's outside, whales, sharks, everything you can think of. The have a huge gift shop, and a place to eat also. You can spend the whole day and never get board. more

Love this aquarium 10/10/2005

This aquarium is great for anyone big or small. They have an outside exhibit that has a big white whale that you can watch swimming around in his tank. They have a tank of seals that you can get within arms reach and watch them frolic and play. They have lots of exhibits with a good variety of animals. Shows occur throughout the day too. Bring your camera and enjoy all the great exhibits. more

Penguin contact program 10/2/2005

Mystic Aquarium has a great program in which participants are given the opportunity to be close-up with an African penguin. The program lasts about an hour and you spend at least half of that time with an African penguin. The cost is $62.00 per person and its probably best to make a reservation ahead of time. more

Wonderful time 9/28/2005

When I went to Mystic Aquarium with my family, all of us had a wonderful time. It is a fun filled day for all age groups. It has shops, food, animal exhibits, shows, and more. The sea lion show was fantastic! I was very pleased with my experience at Mystic Aquarium. more

Family fun for a good price 9/27/2005

Mystic Aquarium is a fun day for the whole family. You can see many live sea exhibits, virtual exhibits, walk around their spacious facility and grounds, eat, shop and make an entire day of it. You can also sign up for interactive programs where you can actually swim with the beluga whales, and there are a few exhibits where you can interact with the various animals. And don't forget to check out the Sea Lion show, that's the best! more

Great for the kids, but miss the dolphins! 9/25/2005

This is a great place to take the kids to see all manner of undersea life. They have some good exhibits with manatees, sea lions and the penguin exhibit is a neat treat with its underwater views. The prices for admission were a little higher than what we would have liked. We went alot as children and I was always fascinated by the dolphins, so I greatly missed this when I took my own children last year. There is a gift shop with lots of neat items, with prices equal to what you would expect in an aquarium gift shop. The restaurant offers decent food at slightly high prices. There is also a neat exhibit that features remakes of classic boats and usually a documentary to go along with it. Good fun for the kids! more

Splishy Splashy.....Just Alright In My Opinion 9/23/2005

I think the Mystic aquarium is quite pricey. The place is small and there really isn't much too see. I use to go just to watch the dolphin shows when they had them, but since there gone, i find the place very boring. I wouldn't go unless you tend to bring a very young child, maybe then it would at least be exciting for someone. NOT recommended. more

Great Family Fun 9/18/2005

Mystic Aquarium is nothing but fun for individuals or a family who loves or wants to learn more about the ocean and its inhabitants. They have a beluga whale program which is amazing, dozens of different sea creatures for you to view. It is a beautiful park with plenty of grounds to stroll upon complete with restaurants and breathtaking views (so it is great for a date too). For what you get the price is quite reasonable. There are stores to bring back souvenirs and plenty of parking. more

Love it 8/24/2005

I love this sea aquarium. They have a fun touch tank where you can touch sting rays. They have a wonderful assortment of marine life. Right as you walk in they have a beluga wale tank where you can see them being fed. The price is not too bad but it is well worth it as you will find out. more

Fishy education 8/20/2005

The Mystic Aquarium is made up of mostly huge tanks with a variety of water creatures inside. They do have a great variety of animals however their exhibits are somehow not quite so entertaining as those at the Norwalk Aquarium. The hands-on exhibit is very interesting and a nice opportunity to learn about the sea creatures. The Mystic Aquarium also get a bit more traffic than the Norwalk Aquarium which means more people and sometimes lines to get to the exhibits. more

Check out the Penguins! 8/20/2005

Mystic Aquarium, located right off the highway in Mystic, Connecticut, is a real treat. It’s nothing like the National Acquarium in Baltimore or SeaWorld or anything like that, but it’s still worth visitng. The best part? Penguins. And lots of ‘em. Robert Ballard, who discovered the Titanic, has all sorts of exhibits here. A fun day, especially for kids. more

Great for kids 8/19/2005

Mystic Aquarium has gone through great improvement in the past few years. With the addition of Bob Ballard's Titanic exhibits and Marine theaters, along with new exhibits such as Rainforest, Amazon, and Alaskan Coast, the Aquarium is getting better and better. The Aquariums outdoor exhibits include the beluga whales, sea lions, seals and penguins. They are well done in a natural setting and offer great views of the animals. The indoor aquariums include sharks, sting rays, coral reef, sea lions, and other tropical fish, alongside touch pools and animal interactions. Its a great way to spend a day, especially with kids. The Aquarium has full service food (fast food, pizza) and snacks, and a nice gift shop. Prices are $18 adults and $12 for kids, kids under 2 are free. The cons are that it can be very busy in the summer, and they no longer have dolphins or a dolphin shows. more

A nice little aquarium close by. 8/16/2005

Mytic isn't small by any means and niether is it huge, However, the majority of its exhibits are big productions like the beluga tank, sea lion show, shark tank, etc. I personally love the little tanks that they seem to have lees and less of. But still it's not bad. Mystic village is right next door for some quanit shopping as well. more

Great place to visit 8/13/2005

Mystic Aquarium is located in Mystic, CT in a little village. It offers a great aquarium and tanks that you can see up close. Mystic has several shows a day which feature penguins, sea lions, and even dolphins. These change throughout the year, so call ahead if you want to see what the attraction is. They recently added a Titanic exhibit which has a lot of artifacts and history of the Titanic. You can even go into a submarine and see what it feels like for those that had to live in them! Mystic has a terrific hands on display for kids and adults. You can see Stinray's, Turtle's and other sea creatures up close and even touch them! Although it's a bit pricey for an attraction, it's a must-see! more

very disappointed but kids wernt 8/3/2005

The aquarium is very small epically for what you pay to get in . almost all of the exhibits are outdoors so this is definitely not a rainy day activity . My kids had fun tho and it was definitely easy to walk around I would recommend going after summer so to avoid the huge crowd of tourists . Also eat be for you go because food is on the pricey side have fun more

A nice way to spend a morning 8/3/2005

The Mystic Aquarium has been a family favorite since I was a kid. I remember birthday parties at the aquarium. Anyway, the exhibits are constantly being upgraded and the animals seem very well taken care of. The tanks look a lot like natural habitats and there are lots of informational/ educational opportunities. The staff is very informative and someone is always around to answer your questions. The aquarium has special attractions such as the Beluga and Penguin interaction programs. For an extra charge you can touch the Belugas or Penguins and get up close and personal. Mind you, the charge is like $120. but if you were really interested... The kids love the sea lion performances and the ray petting tanks. There are tide pool tanks that allow you to touch crabs, sea plants and sea stars. It's a fun and educational day out for all ages. more

Beluga Whales, yay! 7/25/2005

I got to spend last Saturday at the Mystic Aquarium in Mystic, CT. The admission is a little steep for the amount of time it takes to go through the place, but knowing that it goes towards taking care of the animals, rather than lining someone's pocket makes it easier. The main attractions here are the Beluga Whales, Penguins, Seals and Sea Lions. There are plenty of opportunities for interaction with children if you bring them. There is a tank set up where you can pet Cownose Rays as they swim by. When I went there was an exhibit set up for underwater exploration, including the exporation of the Titanic. more
