Yankee Lanes offers large pin bowling (as opposed to candle pin bowling) and a lot of fun. They have a nice variety of ball sizes for those who don't own their own and well maintained lanes. Scoring is done by computer, and one that keeps better score than most that I've seen. Gutter bumpers are available for those with kids (or those who just can't bowl...) and there is plenty of seating around each lane. Yankee Lanes has a bar and concession stand, if you order something that takes a while to cook they'll even bring it to your lane for you. There is also an arcade with several video games, pool tables and an air hockey table. If you're looking to bowl on a Friday or Saturday night stop by for Galactic Bowling where you'll find black lights, strobes, a dj to keep you entertained and plenty of bowling extras to add to your experience (be prepared to pay more and wait for a lane though).

Saco Cinemagic is a great movie theater. They have stadium seating in the theaters which means I've never had to watch a movie here where the head of the person in front of me blocked part of the screen for the whole show. Their theaters are as clean as one can expect and their ticket prices are comparable to regular theaters. Just as a movie theater should be, you will enjoy or not enjoy your trip to Saco Cinemagic based entirely on whether or not you like the movie!

Mister Bagel serves... well... bagels. While they do have a few other pastries to choose from, the real attraction here is bagels. They serve some bagel sandwiches, but I've always been there for a quick breakfast bagel. They have hot coffee, juices, bagels and a drive-thru. What more do you need? Their bagels are great and they usually have a nice variety to choose from. They have several cream cheeses on any given day and always a few low-fat options for those watching their waistline. The only thing keeping Mister Bagel from being perfect is their need to way over-do the cream cheese. I've never ordered a bagel here that I didn't need to scrap off extra cream cheese, even when I asked them not to put as much on. However, I am admittedly a light cream cheese eater and I usually have to go through the scraping ritual no matter where I get my bagel, so, a small price to pay for otherwise wonderful service and food.

Amato's serves the perfect ham italian. And plenty of other things too. But really, its the italian that will keep you coming back. My favorite part of an Amato's italian is the pickles. On some days, I would even be willing to drive all the way from Connecticut to Maine just to eat an Amatos pickle, I don't know why, but they're that good. Aside from italians, Amatos serves many other sandwiches, pizzas (not as good as Pat's, but none so bad either) and pastas. Their service is quick and friendly. At the Gorham shop there is a small dining area to eat in, so grab a soda, some chips and enjoy the Perfect Italian!

Granny's Burritos serves delicious, filling burritos at a really low price. Their burritos are excellent with a nice proportion of ingredients that is sometimes hard to come by with burritos. They have a nice variety of options and many choices for vegetarians and vegans. You can order and dine upstairs, order at the counter and take it to go or eat it at picnic tables on the lower floor. There's not much fancy about Granny's, but its good food, served quickly at a great price.

D Cole Jewelers is the perfect jewelry store. They have a beautiful selection of jewelry, ranging from thousand dollar engagement rings to $20 turquoise earrings. There is sure to be something for everyone in this store, both in style and budget. Their showroom is bright and well lit and the cases are attractive and interesting to look at. The staff is always friendly and willing to help. D Cole designs all of their own pieces and their is on the premise, you can even watch the jewelers at work through the large glass window connecting to the show room. For such a unique selection of items their prices are very reasonable.

Lovell Designs is a small jewelry store with a limited number of designs. Their designs all incorporate nature in some way. For example, my sister has a pendant that is the shape of a heart formed by two jumping dolphins. Their jewelry is definitely unique, but is rather limited in style. Chances are if you like one piece you'll like it all, and vice versa too. One huge bonus is that you can choose the metal for each of the designs. The prices are a bit high, but for such well crafted, creative jewelry its worth it!

GM Pollack & Sons is a great jewelry store. They have a huge selection of items with many different styles. All of their items are very high quality and they have some of the nicest diamonds in the area. However, the best part about shopping with GM Pollack's is the service. The employees here are always very friendly and courteous. Their service department is fantastic and they do a great job with all types of jewelry repair. Even if the item was not originally purchased at GM Pollack's they will still provide you with the same level of service. Before agreeing to fix a piece of jewelry I had purchased elsewhere, one gentleman took at least twenty minutes to look over the piece and assess its condition. The staff are creative and always interested in serving your best needs.

I've been eating pizza at Pat's for as long as I can remember. They easily have the best pizza in the Portland area. Their crusts are just the right thickness and their toppings are always fresh. You can make your own combination of toppings or order one of their specialty pizzas. My favorite is their Deja Vu pizza: chicken, pine nuts, fresh tomatoes and pesto. Yummy! What's even better? Their pizza comes at a very reasonable price. You can get it to go or eat in their dining room downstairs. For a special don't forget try a piece of their mud pie, another favorite.

They all take much pride in their work and can work with any type of hair. My long, thick hair was effortlessly swept into a sleek, neat up-do for my wedding with seemingly no effort at all. The stylists at New Angles are very friendly and great at striking up conversation as you have your hair done. I've been having my hair cut there since I was a little girl, even now that I live in Connecticut I'll still arrange to stop in to New Angles when I'm ready for a trim. New Angles is perfect for a great cut at an even better price!
