In the past 3 years of taking our 1991 Honda Accord to Mike's, I have been very satisfied with their service. Since I am no mechanic myself, I appreciate that if I tell them something sounds funny, they will ask questions to try to get better info from me before starting to look at things. They tell me when just opening something up will cost a bunch, they look at things that may well be figments of my imagination (and don't fix the left-handed grammus fleebus just because they think I want *something* fixed), and they treat me with respect.
My comparison is limited, as I've only taken the car to two other shops. Firestone on Dixwell is competent but a little superficial, and the other one* I just didn't like much.
*I'm not putting their name because it's not fair of me to put them down for just a vague dislike.
