Mid Valley Veterinary Hospital

it was Labor Day and of course my lab got into some trash.. Having just moved into the Reseda area I went online and found this vet Mid Valley. I called and told the receptionist that my lab started vomiting after getting into trash after a BBQ. She told me to come on down. 15 mins later I arrived and found the vet facility to be clean and warm. The front staff were very kind and I was seen by Dr. Ohh in 15 mins. They ran a few tests and found that it was just a mild gastritis and gave her some medication. 36 hours later she was back to normal.\r \r Overall I was very pleased with this vet and the prices seemed very reasonable.\r \r I will start using them, hopefully not too soon! more

I randomly stumbled into this hospital just recently for the first time and am very happy I did! My dog was seen by Dr. Suh, and he absolutely loved her. Dr. Suh was great about explaining everything about my dog in detail to me and made me feel very comfortable about the treatment process she chose. I live somewhat far from here but will definitely be a regular for my dog's sake. 2 thumbs up! more

We have been going to the clinic for 10 years - because they are simply the best. Dr. Pitt is absolutely wonderful - experienced, compassionate, great bedside manner. His staff are also warm and efficient. We have 4 cats and visit the clinic a lot. They are not ""cheap"" in any sense, yet always willing to work with us on the pricing and very reasonable in what they recommend and do. I have been to many vets in the Valley and it is not by accident that we have been with Dr.Pitt for so long. He is like a good family doctor loving and knowledgeable. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. We recently rescued four 3 week old kittens and brought them all to Dr.Pitt for an exam - and he charged us only for ONE! Try to top that. more

Took my cat over the weekend, hanging on to dear life. turned out he only had a bladder problem, they flushed it out with a catherter. Vet told me, my cat needed to stay 2-4 days and the bill would be $2100. He was a 3 year old cat and Dr. Pitt said he had a 60% chance to live. told him I could only afford $500. in my desperate need, devastated, crying at his office he has the nerve to say ""call your credit card and ask for more money or call around to borrow the money"". Then he lectured me that pet owners need to take the responsiblity and have money set aside for emergencies like this and so on. So then he comes back in the room and says he will lower price to $1100. After I pleaded with him he said since I could not pay I needed to sign over my pet to his care. I told him I can take the cat somewhere else and he said"" I can be a DICK and calll the city on you"" how unprofessional!. He would not even give me my cat back!! So he gave me no other option but to sign him over. He said he would put him up for adoption. So instead of him offering me a payment plan and accepting my $500, he instead just wanted my money and not even try to help us out!! My cat didn't even need surgery, I cant imagine how much he would charge! I will never take my dogs back not even refer to him ever again!!! more

Found this vet online last week when my outside cat got into a cat fight. Was seen promptly by a very nice female vet. An estimate was given prior to any service done. They fixed Zoey up with stiches and she was ready to be picked up in 4 hours. more

ive taken my dogs to this ""hospital"" a few times. its always clean and has decent, mixed reviews. the staff is usually friendly. the cost is always high at this place. we took our pups for the shot clinic and it was still quite a bit higher than other places we checked out. we did have our mastiff neutered here and it was a little expensive but not TOO expensive and they seemed to do a good job. we've dealt with Dr. Kim on a few occassions and i was less than impressed with her attitude. ive been to a few vets in the SFV and most are always nice and talkative and seem to care about the animals. i finally decided to move on after reading some of these other reviews and finding another vet in the area with even better reviews. more

3 weeks ago my lab puppy Tammy was very sick with vomiting and blood diarrheaa. I called around and found a very symphathetic vet, Mid Valley Vet Hospital. On the phone I explained that I adopted the puppy from Lab Rescue and being a CSUN student I was not in a very good financial situation. The kind nurse on the phone told me to bring my pet in and that we would fiqure out whats wrong with her and help in any way we could. more

MY FRIEND TOOK A STRAY CAT WHO LIVES IN OUR STREET TO THEM AND HIS BILL WAS ALMOST $900, HE CAME TO BORROW MONEY FROM ME , BECAUSE WHAT HE HAD AT THE TIME $450 HIS UTILITY BILL MONEY WHICH HE DID NOT MIND TO GIVE IT ALL TO HELP THE STRAY CAT AND BECAUSE THEY MADE HIM SIGN OBLIGATION PAPERS OF THE COST AND HE IS SO POLITE AND SHY COULDN'T SAY NO TO HELP THE CAT, I TRIED TO HELP HIM BY CALLING THE VET AND SEE IF THEY CAN LOWER THE BILL TO $450 , I SPENT OVER 20 MUNITES TALKING TO THE DOCTOR WHO WOULD NOT EVEN LISTEN TO ME! FINALY THEY ACCEPT THE $450 , NO COMPASSION, NO FEELINGS , THIER ONLY GOAL IS THE MONEY!!!! TODAY I CALLED FOR MY DOG AND THE NURSE CINDY RECONGNISE MY VOICE , SHE KEPT ME 7 MINUTES ON HOLD PRETENDING LOOKING MY DOG CHART, THEN SHE CAME BACK TO GIVE THE LECTURE OF MY LIFE ABOUT THE CAT AND THE $450, LIKE THE $450 IS LIKE ONLY $10 , IT IS $450!!! THAT IS A LOT OF MONEY , IT IS A STRAY CAT, IT WAS MY FRIEND UTILITY BILL!!! GIVE ME A BREAK!!! more

First time client last Sunday. My cat was hit by a car early in the morning and I did a Google search in the Reseda area and found Mid Valley Vet Hospital. i called and was surprised to find them open at 8am on sunday. The gal who answered, Lucy was her name, was terrific. Warm and compassionate. She said bring your pet in ASAP. NO MENTION OF MONEY WAS MADE!! Her concern was just for my pet. When I arrived she was seen pronto. A very nice and pretty vet Dr. Kim walked in right away. She performed a good physical exam and recommended some xrays and lab test to make sure my kitty was ok. After about 20 minutes she returned to tell me that Jocelyn our kitty had a broken rear leg but that a splint should fix her up and surgery wasn't indicated. They gave me a very reasonable estimate and I am happy to say that our kitty is doing fine, albeit confined to house arrest. My first time experience at this new vet was excellent. The vet and supporting staff were professional and compassionate. I highly recommend Mid Valley Vet Hospital in Van Nuys for any animal emergency for vet issues. As a resident of Reseda for 10 years, I have been bring my 4 cats to Mid Valley Vet Hospital in Van Nuys for over 4 years. Dr. Pitt and his staff are amazing. Dr. Kim is an excellent doctor for Sunday emergency vet visits. i have used the facility for simple exams and shots as well as pet surgery needs. They are open 7 days a week as well as late in the evening. I even found them open last Thanks Giving day when my cat had a bad case of the runs. I have never experienced anything but TOP NOTCH care and treatment. The staff even remembers me by first name when I walk in. I highly and mean HIGHLY recommend this top notch veterinary facility for anyone in the valley. more

Last week my 8 week old lab started to vomit and have bloody diarhea. I found Mid Valley Vet Hospital in Van Nuys open on sunday. I took her there to be examined. I was warmly welcomed and seen very quickly. After doing a test the vet came in and said she was very sick with parvo. My problem is that Im a student and have limited savings. A employee came in the room with an estimate that was reasonable but more than I could afford. I then told my story about being a student with very little savings to a very caring nurse named Jack. After some discussion he was very cool and got an ok to give me a huge money break. They just charged me a very fair flat fee and said the price wouldnt go up no matter how long she was sick. Im VERY HAPPY TO SAY that after 3 days she was doing much better and eating. With a warm heart I say THANK YOU Mid Valley Vet for understanding my money problemes, working with me, and healing my dog. I will be a customer for life, and my lab Penny thanks you a million.. I highly recommend this vet as they are caring and compasstionate and will work with you if you have money problems. more

Today I helped rescue a dog that had been hit by a car. This Vet was the closest and we rushed the dog over for medical help. The vet refused to come out from the back office and told the receptionist that they would not look at the dog unless we left a deposit. The dog was hit by a car and the vet refused to even talk to us face to face!! They said that if they did anything they could lose their license - PLEASE!!! I took the dog to West Valley Animal Control and they lovingly took the dog. They said that it is possible that had this ""Vet"", and I use the term loosely, that they may have been able to save the dog. Unfortunately the dog had to be put down, no thanks to these people. I am happy that they are NOT my vet as they care more about doing nothing than doing what is right. It's painfully (mostly for the poor Shepherd who was suffering) obvious that a love of animals is not the prevailing reason for this veterinary clinic to be open.... A love of MONEY is sadly apparent. There are hundreds of vets in the valley... AVOID this one! more

2 weeks ago on a Sunday, my lab got a piece of bone caught in his throat. He was drooling likely crazy, going nuts, and starting to turn purple. I called Mid Valley Vet where I have had excellent experiences in the past, and was told by a receptionist to get down here PRONTO.. more

I went to Mid Valley Vet. My dog had an allergic reaction, she got bumps on her skin and had also recently taken a fall while chasing for a ball and was slightly favoring one leg. more

Overall the Mid Valley Veterinary Hospital is wonderful. My parents have used them a number of years, as have my husband and I. The staff is great and helpful. Location is great, and parking doesn't seem to be an issue. Great hours as well. more

Last week my crazy lab was choking on a Kong ball that was caught in her throat. She was going nuts, having trouble breathing and I could not remove it. I called my heroes at Mid Valley Vet Hospital at 8pm. They said come down NOW.. 10 mins later she was rushed into the treatment area, sedated, and the ball was removed. 1 hour later I picked her up. I was very surprised to find the bill was less than $200. Thanks to Mid Valley Vet Hospital my girl Lucy is alive and doing great, minus a small Kong. Dr. Kim and the staff at Mid Valley were terrific and saved my dogs life. Thanks a million for the great work. Highly recommend Mid Valley Vet Hospital in Van Nuys for any dog emergency. more

This was one of the worst experiences I've had a vet ever! My dog came down with severe shakes and some jaw jabbering. I took my dog in to see the vet at Mid Valley and was happy that they were open on a Sunday. Once the vet agreed to see my dog she came in and spent the max 5 mins with my dog. She didn't check any of the vitals except for sticking a thermometer up my dog's butt. Given my dog has been raised on a organic mind-set where there has been minimal shots but on my defense my dog has been extremely healthy up until this bizarre week. So this vet took my standpoint personal and decided to not even bother giving my dog a thorough exam. She just wanted to do a blood exam, which I was willing to do but after I realized her attitude and her crappy exam I decided against it and went elsewhere, out the $40 something bucks of the mere 2 mins of conversation with the vet. Pointless. I could of called in for free. I'm sorry but I really feel that this vet didn't do her job instead. My dog also has a bit of a rash and she completely ignored it. I was amazed that I was speechless. I guess its my fault for not opening my big mouth. Anyways.. Make sure you tell the vet exactly what you want. Or else you'll find yourself in my shoes.
