My family and I have eaten at Mac's fairly regularly, because the food is usually good, despite how noisy it is. However, we have now had two bad experiences at Mac's and may not return. The first experience was when we ordered Mahi Mahi and it took 20+ minutes from the time it was ordered, until it was delivered to the table, without any explanation as to why it took so long. We sat and watched numerous people who had arrived after us, order steaks and other meals and leave before we received our order. We had to speak with the Manager who explained that that particular plate often takes that long. If the restaurant has a plate that takes this long, they might consider either removing it from the menu or noting that it may take this long on the menu.
Tonight, my in-laws were visiting and we took them to Mac's for dinner. When we arrived, we asked how long it would take to seat our 5-member party and they said it would be 15-20 minutes. We were willing to wait this long, but bordered on being too long. When they finally called us to be seated, they took us to a table for 4 and had a chair at the end of the table for the 5th person. All members of our party were at least 5 ft. tall and this was not a reasonable accommodation. Thus, we asked for a larger table, but were told that it would take another 15-20 minutes for a larger table. I told them that they should estimate the time for a table of 5 upon a table that would reasonably accommodate 5 people, because now we had already waited 20 minutes and were being asked to wait another 20 minutes. Therefore, the estimate should not have been 15-20 minutes originally, but should have been 35-40 minutes. We left .It was a bad experience and may not return.
