We used to frequent Mac's when we first moved to S. Arlington from N. Arlington 17 years ago. The food and prices have always been inviting, and the noise tolerable on most occasions, but we stopped going back because we have never enjoyed good service - not once. We tried Mac's again recently and hoped for the best, but the service was again inattentive at best and incompetent at its worst. We invited friends who live right around the corner from the bar. I ordered a scotch - the bar has a great selection of single malts - and the glass had lipstick on it. That happens, but the replacement glass had a similar shade around the lip. The bartender, James, threw the glass into the sink and brought me another; with a bug in it. James threw this glass in the sink too, bringing the whole bar to attention. I have always wanted to like Mac's, but I doubt we or my friends will go back.
