I've stayed at Luxor four times but will not be returning. The hotel is being repositioned for a younger audience and much of the campy Egyptian theme has been removed. They also cl...

Check in was really fast and easy 2/7/2011

Bathroom was amazing, large shower and bath marble surfaces. Hotel had a lot of things to do, just being inside a Pyramid building was a fun experience. Food was pretty average, the have a starbucks which is a big + for me, Check in was really fast and easy, did not have any troubles with that. more

Love Staying Here 2/1/2011

I loved my stay at the Luxor.....like any hotel on the strip it had its own good and bad points. the good ones are.....spa suites to relax in after a long day or nite on the town...plenty of room for two. found many visitors jealous i had my own spa. the bed and bath toiletries were very nice. The rooms are large..the beds are comfy and rooms are fairly clean compared to other hotels i saw. maids respected do not disturb signs. and was pleased they checked my key when i came in and found them cleaning a nice security measure. Poolside was great...and enjoyed my downtime and the music they played. check in took awhile but check out was fast and the staff was friendly and accomidating. easy access to excalibur via sky walks and trams. Chris Angels bikes and cars were cool to see and I loved the Egyptian theme. bell hops were freindly and quick in getting my bags for check out and patiently watched them until i was curbside. very much appreciated. more

Good Service 1/3/2011

I stay there on weekly basis for past 3 months and have never encountered an issue that I wouldn't at any mega resorts. Have you seen how fast they move their lines. And respond in timely manner. Its not a place for you if you think you are the only guest in 4400 rooms resort that needs service. Love the staff and economy class rooms. Be back next month. more

Definitely a Fan 12/29/2010

A group of friends and I stayed here for a few days for a friends birthday. Vegas is great and we really weren't expecting much just a place to sleep but, we got much more. We had got a great deal on the hotel and ended up being upgraded to better rooms as soon as we checked in. The service was great and everyone was willing to help us with anything we needed. As most hotels on the vegas strip the luxor has everything in it you need, clubs, bars, restaurants, buffets, shows, and of course the casino. The casino definatly isn't the best on the strip but it works for someone like me who is more in vegas for other things. The location of the hotel in the only downfall it is on the far north end of the strip so getting to hotels such as the belagio and ceasers takes a while but on the upside it does have connecting walk ways to mandalay bay and I believe excalibur. For the price I was definatly a fan of this hotel. more

Besrt Place 12/28/2010

This hotel is located on the South end of the strip, but is the easiest hotel to get to and to find your way around. I have stayed in other hotels and Luxor is so easy to find your way around. The service is always great and you have the choice of either staying in the pyramid or a tower room. I have stayed in both and I like the tower rooms the best. The Steak house is the best place to eat that special meal in the evening with the buffet the best for the rest of the time. Every time I go to Vegas I stay at the Luxor. more

they have one of the best pools 10/15/2010

We loved the Luxor, and we stayed there even before they upgraded the hotel to include more cool restaurants and the popular club LAX. The Luxor is the perfect place to stay in the summer, they have one of the best pools and they are a lot cheaper than the Mandalay Bay. Its not too hard to get a pool chair at Luxor but I've heard it is really hard at the Mandalay Bay. more

we cannot understand what people were talking about 10/14/2010

We read some of the reviews regarding this hotel and were extremely anxious as some of the reviews were terrible. However, we cannot understand what people were talking about, our stay at this hotel was absolutely wonderful. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly with excellent service, the room was spacious and clean and we had two queen size beds. We stayed in the pyramid and the room was a liitle dark at first but you can push the curtains back further to lighten the room. The location was perfect, five minutes drive from the airport. Lovely pool, excellent restaurants. We are glad that we didnt take any notice of the bad reviews and made up our own minds. We would recommend this hotel to anyone and hope to return for another trip. more

one of the best hotels we stayed in 10/14/2010

this is one of the best hotels we stayed in during our short trips. the ambiance of this hotel & the area surrounding was amazing. best place to stay for a long leisure trip in Las Vegas. it has a grand decorated lobby with all the modern amenities & interior. Rooms were really specious with well decorated furniture & attire. For morning breakfast there are lots of facilities was in the lobby only, and there were many options. we will definitely visit this place again & will recommend everyone have recently returned from a holiday to Las Vegas having stayed at the Luxor hotel. more

This place was great 10/13/2010

The kids thought this place was great, and we enjoyed it too. It is a ways from a lot of cool things on the strip, but a day of walking will let you see everything. We stayed in the tower, which was nice, but I guess the kids wanted to be in the pyramid part, oh well. The room was big and the bathroom very nice. The pool was crowded with 20-somethings partying, but we had fun. I won $ on the slots, YEAH! The theme is awesome and the decor around the hotel and casino is great! We will be back! The first time my husband and I went to Vegas in 2004 for our honeymoon, we stayed at the Bellagio. When we returned in 2007, we had booked at the Luxor knowing it would not be as luxurious as the Bellagio. We were pleasantly surprised with the whole experience. In all honesty, it appeared to me that the air was cleaner than the Bellagio. It seemed as if everyone's cigarette smoke was not as prominent at the Luxor as it was at the Bellagio. The Luxor also had more affordable places to eat for people who did not want to have a sit-down meal and spend a couple hundred dollars on every meal. The Luxor exceeded our expectations. My best friend and I are staying at the Luxor in October, 2010. Certainly, well worth the money (cheap) and has everything we need if we chose not to leave the building. The only problem with the room was that I found it to be too dark. They need brighter bulbs or more lighting. The service was fantastic and we had a fantastic time without spending an arm and a leg for the room. Loved the sit down restaurants as well. more

With all the bad and negative reviews that I've read I thought I had made a mistake 10/13/2010

Ok so... With all the bad and negative reviews that I've read I thought I had made a mistake for our first summer vacatrip to Vegas..so did not need to stress. The front desk was more than helpful checking in at 1am, there was a line, but it only took about 10min before we got all checked in. The pyramid room was awesome! We were on the 7th floor and did not hear any noise. The beds were so comfortable, the pillows a little stiff but still pudgy enough to sleep on. The bathroom I loved because of the decor and space of the shower. Plus there was enough space in the bathroom for 3 of us to get all situated in the evenings. We also had a nice view of the mandalay bay hotel. The housekeeping staff was really cool and even gave us extra bathroom items and towels. Room service was also pretty neat, they told me the wait would be about 45min to and 1 hour..they arrived within 30min, and the room service waiter was very nice and courteous and addressed me by my name. Suweet! The pools were very clean and the bathrooms were nice and tidy. After it all I did not want to leave the Luxor. The only thing I'd recommend is that they keep the gift shops open a little longer, I was unable to find a 24hr gift shop at 4am.. Don't Ask.. Thank You Luxor and Luxor Hotel & Casino Staff!! more

didnt have any issues 10/12/2010

Stayed in West Tower, had tub, separate shower, refrigerator. LCD TV, Pillow top bed, coffee maker. It was quiet, staff was friendly. Did not have any issues. Room was very quiet. Stayed there 10 yr ago, still the same decor, different clubs. Buffet is $30 for ALL DAY all you can eat, otherwise about $12-15 a meal. Expected otherwise based upon reviews, but don't know where they come from. Again, this was for West Tower, but staff couldn't have been nicer. Would definitely stay here again if location is near planned shows. Monorail a pain as it is behind the strip, easier walking. more

wonderful 9 nights at this Las Vegas landmark 10/12/2010

My wife and I, along with her parents have just returned home after a wonderful 9 nights at this Las Vegas landmark. It's not the biggest Hotel & Casino in Vegas, in fact it is around half the size of Crown Casino in Melbourne. The staff are very helpful for the most part, but you do need to be aware of the touts offering free show tickets for a few minutes of your time. The room we had on the 19th level of the West tower was fantastic. Conforatble beds, hot & powerful showers, what more could I ask for. As its part of the MGM -Mirage group, your players card also works at Excalibur, MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay, and New York New York which is great for building up points. A key tip is to charge EVERYTHING to your room, and keep amazing point. After our 9 night stay we had amassed around 30000 points between 4 of us. When we went to check out, we had been comped for everything. In effect, our accommodation was FREE, Oh and we got free Limo transfers both ways to and from the Airport. My husband and I stayed at the Luxor with our 11 year old daughter and cannot understand why this hotel receives so many bad reviews! The pyramid room that we stayed in was clean, the beds were comfy, and the staff was very nice and helpful. The pool was clean and there were plenty of lounge chairs. We had great housekeeping service and all requests for extra towels and glasses were met. The concierge was helpful when booking our Grand Canyon trip. We have stayed at other hotels in Las Vegas and for the price,we feel it was a great value. more

This hotel is totally unique 10/8/2010

This hotel is totally unique. When you come out of your room and see down the view is awesome. The elevators are unique too they work in a different type because of shape of hotel which is pyramid !! more

just being inside a Pyramid building was a fun experience 10/8/2010

I stayed here for 4 nights, and we had a great time! We stayed in one of the tower deluxe rooms, and had a nice view of some of the strip, From memory It cost only a few extra dollars a night to stay in this room over the Pyramid room, and it was worth it. The Room was beautiful, recently refurbish' from memory and was totally clean and smelt great. The bed was a double king, and was extremely nice, Curtains were thick so sleeping in until 1pm was not a problem, Bathroom was amazing, large shower and bath and marble surfaces. Hotel had a lot of things to do, just being inside a Pyramid building was a fun experience. Food was pretty average, the have a Starbucks which is a big + for me, Check in was really fast and easy, did not have any troubles with that. more

An excellent choice for our stay 10/7/2010

The self-park car park was big but easy to access from the road system and into the hotel. Valet parking looked very busy and at times overwhelmed & chaotic. The monorail was always busy, but the short distances between the Luxor & its sisters meant that it was not really necessary. We visited the Titanic exhibit which was excellent. It was cheaper buying tickets from a half-price booth on the strip than in the Luxor itself, despite having a Luxor discount booklet. The location we found ideal. We were just away from the bustle of mid-strip but only 10 minutes walk away from the action. Generally, the Luxor was everything we wanted it to be. There was no evidence at all of timeshare touts; our only problem was getting through the public areas whilst everyone was trying to take family photos by the Egyptian features! There is a sign asking to "please excuse our dust whilst we create your new Luxor" but we experienced no inconvenience. An excellent choice for our stay. more

The room was very, very quiet 10/7/2010

The Deluxe Pyramid Room was exactly as requested. It was clean, with a superb bathroom and effective aircon. The room was very, very quiet despite the hotel always being busy. more

Everything i hoped for 10/6/2010

Some of the previous reviews had got me worried, but I should not have been concerned. The Luxor was everything I had hoped that it would be and more. Check-in had what looked to be a long queue but in reality I was checking in after about 2 minutes. It was very efficient; I had pre-paid through a tour operator so there was no need even to leave a card inprint & there was certainly not an additional resort fee with our rate! more

The spa tub was a real treat 10/6/2010

The spa tub was a real treat and had towels located next to it (good plan). The fridge was very useful (and a Vegas rarity) and the switchboard were very adapt at connecting rooms as we tried to arrange our wedding group. The pool was lovely and the spa was a real treat. I had a great Swedish massage on my wedding day. My only complaint would be that the room was quite dimly lit but your eyes soon adjust. more

Amentities far exceeded expectations 10/4/2010

We stayed here for our first ever visit to Vegas & it certainly met our expectations! The room was awesome considering we only paid $100/night for it. The amenities at the hotel far exceeded what we were expecting...the pool, shops, food, nightlife, gambling, shows...would definitely recommend & it is sooo wallet friendly! more
