BEWARE SPEND 100.00 ELSEWHERE!!!!!!! 7/5/2011

Being well traveled and trusting the reveiws I got tricked into eating the SALTY food here. If you have been out of NC then you know this place is a MIRAGE looking like a very good fancy place but they SKIMP on the quality of the food and how it is prepared. Again if you HAVE NOT been out of NC to eat I know why the ratings are so freakin high or the staff and MGR do the reveiws! Spent 100 dollars here trust me spend 65 bucks at Outback! I only gave this 1 star because I had to they did not have NEG numbers which would have been -4 and really thats is being nice. more

Awful Food, ok Service, Great Decor 6/11/2011

My friend was so excited about having her bday party at this restaurant because she said that she'd heard so many good things about it. When I heard that it claimed to sell southern food, I was quite skeptical bc most restaurants in Raleigh don't have what I'd call good southern food. Needless to say, the food was bland and tasteless. I'm from the south, so I know southern food. My aunts and grandmother cook better than the chef they have in the kitchen, and they have had no formal training. The salmon I ordered was not fresh even though the waitress lied and said that it was. The mac and cheese was awful, and the rice didn't even have any sauce to go along with it. The restaurant is decorated nicely, but so what. I go to a restaurant for the food, not the decor. The service was mediocre at best. I had lemonade that was refilled once. At one point, a waiter almost poured water into my lemonade. We waited for ages to get our food. Did I mention that the waitress actually lied about the fresh fish and believed that I couldn't taste/smell the difference. I will never go back to this restaurant, and I have told everyone who's asked that I don't recommend that they go there either. more

Can't Beat It! 11/30/2010

This place has my vote as the best restaurant in the area hands down. Friendly staff, and phenomenal food. more

Good Food - Good Price - Good Restaurant 10/11/2010

Lucky 32 is a Cary favorite! If you're in the McGregor Downs or Crossroads area, you'll be doing yourself a favor to stop by and have brunch (on the weekends) or daily lunch or dinner at Lucky 32! The menu is widely varies and changes monthly and there is absolutely something for everyone on the menu! The staff is polite and attentive and the prices are reasonable for the quality of the food! The atmosphere is beautiful and comfortable! And if you decide that you like Lucky 32, they have a sister restaurant called the Green Valley Grill if you're ever in the Greensboro area, and it's truly one of the finest restaurants on the East Coast. Great food! 4/14/2010

From the moment we got to Lucky 32 the service was excellent. We first went to the bar and had a glass of wine. The bartender was helpful in selecting a wine and friendly. We sat in the bar area which is just as beautiful as the restaurant. Our server was friendly and fun! The best part of course was our meal. I had the Kentucky ribeye, which was cooked to perfection. And the collards were amazing. My husband had the scallops wrapped in bacon. The scallops were very large and he loved them. My favorite I have to admit though were the fried green tomatoes and pig's bread which was out of this world! Thanks for a great night! Pros: atmosphere beautiful, great service awesome food! more

Excellent food & service 4/12/2010

We had a great dinner experience! We ate at the bar side and the atmosphere was great! The food was excellent with its eclectic menu. The option to select from any of the side dishes was great! We had a party of 4 so we ordered different sides and there was plenty to share. I would highly recommend the corn bread, collards and fried grits! I would also recommend the rhubarb margarita! Service was also excellent! Highly recommended!!!! Pros: Excellent food & excellent service!!!! more

Worth the trip to Cary 2/17/2010

Visited Lucky 32 a few months back(when it was warmer) and was not disappointed with any aspect of the food or service. Great food great price. Shrimp and Grits were tops in the Triangle. I did dine on the patio following my meal being a smoker I did light a cigarette. I was then informed that smoking is not allowed on the patio. Which I had no problem with, I just wish there were a sign or something. Pros: Shrimp and Grits on the money Cons: No Smoking on the Patio more

Tasty food, great service, upscale surroundings 2/17/2010

I love the whipped sweet potatoes, salmon, chicken, bread and green beans. The sweet potato hush puppies were too weird for me. Tasted like pumpkin pie. I've been there several times recently and love the food. It's not the same old chain menu with tons of salt, fat and preservatives. The ingredients are local, the menus are innovative, and the service is consistently good. All for a reasonable price. Pros: Menu variety, freshness of food Cons: Not all combos are equal tasty more

Been eating here for years... 11/12/2009

My family has been eating here for years since we have two vegetarians and they have a well rounded enough menu that most of us are happy. My father, best friend, and I all adore the black bean cakes but my husband has trouble finding something he likes here on some of the menus. Pros: Always new selections Cons: Sometimes service is slow and can be pricy more

Planning a rehearsal dinner at Lucky 32 in October 7/19/2009

My husband and I had a wonderful lunch enjoying two of the entrees that will be served during the rehearsal dinner. Everything was delicious, and we were also impressed with the service. The woman we dealt with to make arrangements for the rehearsal dinner could not have been more gracious and accommodating. As I mentioned in my ""cons"", I am a little concerned about some of the negative reviews, even though there were very few of them. Most are very positive, and I do realize you always get complainers when working with the public. So, hopefully, these negative issues have been addressed by the management, and we will have a delightful and delicious evening that will be enjoyed by all. Looking forward to a wonderful night at Lucky 32!!! Pros: Loved the separate room for rehearsal dinners and food Cons: a little concerned about some of the negative reviews more

Nice Place to Relax 3/29/2009

The strange thing is that you can smoke in the bar but if you sit outside you can't smoke. I thought that was strange. But the food is good and they are pretty quick. Pros: Good Service Cons: None that I can think of more

Great ambiance, food was disappointing this time 3/5/2009

My husband and I both like this restaurant, but the last time we visited for dinner (a couple of weeks ago), the food was disappointing. Pros: Ambiance, location, service Cons: Inconsistent food more

Loving this Upscale Southern Cooking 2/19/2009

Just had their cajun pork tenderloin with the voodoo sauce and goat cheese. YUM! And those collards are better than my grandmas (may she rest in peace). I suggest getting the whipped sweet potatoes instead of the red beans and rice (to cool off that voodoo sauce). And the brownie sundae is SO rich. My partner always get the salt and pepper ribeye. I always get the Grilled Chicken Salad with spinach for lunch. And I just saw that the owners of Lucky 32 are a semi-finalist for ""Restaurateur of the Year"" award for 2009 from James Beard Foundation. That's like the oscars for restaurants, and there are only 20 semi-finalists in the entire country. Impressed. Pros: Great ambience, friendly servers, generous portions Cons: Easy to drive by if you don't know where they are! more

Great Food, Outstanding Service! 2/5/2009

I went to Lucky 32 recently with a few friends, and we all really enjoyed ourselves. I really liked how we were all able to get something different, and we were each quite pleased with our entree. I particularly enjoyed the pork with a spicy Voodoo glaze, but the seafood also looked outstanding! Our server was very accomodating to our needs- one person in the group was a vegetarian, another had a few allergies- and made sure that we were always happy throughout the meal. I especially appreciate the flexibility of the menu and kitchen staff, and will certainly return for another lunch! more

Ehh...so, so 1/30/2009

Prices are out the roof and the food was not that good. Service could stand a little improvement! However, it was my first time but isn't it a rule of thumb you don't get a second chance to make a good impression? Having said that, customers should always be treated anywhere as if the restaurant staff, management and owners are after you to return. Those are the ones I return to over and over, believe me. I will pay well for good service! Pros: Have they lower the prices yet? Cons: Have they lower the prices yet? ;) more

Wonderful time at Lucky 32 1/29/2009

My girl friends and I got together for a lunch recently at Lucky32 in Cary, and we had the best time. There was a group of six and we went without a reservation and we were seated immediately! The staff there is very friendly and accommodating. The variety on the menu is outstanding...not just your ""usual"" stuff. We ordered the artichoke dip appetizer and then our lunches. I got the Black Bean Cakes...FANTASTIC!! We will absolutely go back there again. We didn't feel rushed to leave as we just sat and talked. Oh, get the Peanutbutter Pie for dessert! Pros: great staff, great food more

Best southern food in Cary 1/29/2009

My husband and I ate here last night and the food was AMAZING!!!! We had the Cajun pork (off the featured menu) and the Suffolk chicken. Both of which were wonderful. It also happened to be ""wine wednesday"" and we were able to get our favorite wine for half price!! Our server was wonderful and very attentive! We will be back! Pros: very nice staff, excellent wine selection, great food more
