We have been to Longhorn a few times 6/6/2012

We have been to Longhorn a few times and it is OK - you can get better BBQ at Branks or Famous Dave's but since we were in the area - we stopped. Last time we got there late and they mentioned there was a band that night and would we like to eat in the bar. The sign said - band starts at 8:30. At 8:45 we asked and were told that the 8:30 is a guide and usually 9:00 is when it happens - a guide? We noticed the band eating at 8:50 in the table next to us - do you have a job you can ""punch in"" and then have dinner? The also had an advertisment for Thursday all you can eat Buffet of tacos. Figured we would try that - guess we should have paid attention to the $5.00 price and not expected anything. No ground beef, no tomatoes, no sour cream, no cheese, etc. Basic taco shell and BBQ meat with salsa. Not my idea of a Taco. In short management needs to get its act together and manage more

Why do they hate their customers? 2/10/2012

I recently went to this restaurant for dinner. I went to use the restroom and uh oh, no toilet paper. Looked around and none to be found. Used alternate method to accomplish the task at hand and thought I would let the manager know there was a potential problem that he may be interested in correcting. Suprise! Not only wasn't he appreciative of the information, but I felt like he though that it was my fault that I didn't bring my own. Must be some kind of health code violation. What do their employees use when they are done? There must be a lot of people in Auburn that enjoy eating overpriced, Sizzler quality food along with a heapin' helping of verbal abuse topped with a dessert of bad attitude if this place is in business. Save your money! Stay at home and have your wife and kids yell at you and insult you while eating a Banquet frozen dinner and the experience will be the same. more

Great BBQ 2/8/2012

They have some darn good ribs in this resturant. I try to eat at every BBQ place I see and it is always good to know that I can go into Longhorn for those ribs. \r \r Great bar in that place too , stiff drinks more

Recently remodeled great food/atmosphere 3/11/2011

We have lived in the area for 10 years and often visit Longhorn. In the past the food has been great but the restaurant was outdated. They have recently remodeled and we loved it. The food is cooked very well and had great flavor. The ribs were juicy and smokey and the wings were awesome. I have always been treated very well at this restaurant. Prices are very reasonable especially with the portion size. If you are looking for fast food prices this is not the place for you but if you are looking for a good meal and great atmosphere Longhorn is a great local restaurant. more

Never to Return!! 2/13/2011

I will never come back. This place is awful. YUCK!!!!!!!\r \r Bad Bad Bad! Food is bad, Restrooms are Dirty, Service is lousy, and it's all overpriced.\r more

Great brisket 11/29/2010

I do not understand all the negative talk about this place. I was welcomed coming in and left full feeling good. Great dueling piano bar from what I seen even though I was not able to stay for after hours drinks. I did have a cocktail with dinner and it was tasty. The beef brisket was great, best I have had in awhile and will visit this place again. more

Arrogant Rude Service, BBQ Bones, Night Manager loser 10/20/2010

Circumstances:\r I arrived at the Auburn restaurant from work, intending to meet my wife and children, before an elementary school function with our children. I was coming from work and my wife and two children were coming from shopping. I arrived early, and went to the bar, and ordered a light beer. My wife and two children arrived about 20 minutes later. Rather than transfering my tab to the dining room, I closed out the tab so I could give the server a tip.\r \r When I took my beer out to the dining portion of the restaurant, I met my wife who was quite upset because the waitress was refusing to seat my family, stating that since they were not intending to eat (just purchase sodas or a snack), that they would not be allowed to be seated. This didn't pass the reasonableness test, and the issue was brought to the manager, who seemed to understand, and sat my family promptly.\r \r Shortly after, the same manager came to the table and instructed us to leave promptly. His statement was that the Longhorn is not a ""lounge"" and we are breaking rules. Again, my family was intending to purchase either drinks or some small food items, while I finished my beer, and then we would be headed off for a nice family outing to watch my daughter play in an elementary band festival in Auburn.\r \r The Longhorn ruined our evening. I am so completely disgusted with the rudeness and arrogance of the manager there. I believe his name is Dave Allen or Dan?? He didn't seem to care that I mentioned we have been loyal customers for a long time, dining on many occasions, and my company has catered events with the Longhorn in the past many many times.\r \r We have never been refused service anywhere for anything at any time. I am beyond upset, and will no longer continue to EVER do business with the Longhorn, nor will my company, and I will be sure to let all my friends, employees, and others know about my complete displeasure with the Longhorn. \r more

Watch Out! Roaches!!! 4/17/2010

Noticed upon entering that the servers hands appeared to be as dirty as the parking lot. Went to the restroom to wash my own and noticed two roaches who appeared to be slightly lethargic and not as eager as they should have been to run away. Must have been eating the food here. What a dump! I have served in the Army in Iraq and Afghanistan and this place would only be a two star restaurant in either country. Great place to take relatives that you never want to visit again. Pros: Plenty of parking Cons: Not enough space to list them all more

Great Atmosphere. Good food 8/20/2009

I was recently in for a dinner for two at the Longhorn BBQ in Auburn. Even tho it is a little out dated visually don't judge this book by its cover. \r The food here is amazing and just when the lights go out, put the women and children to bed. It's party time. Not for the faint of heart tho. Just above the door while entering it should read Explicit Lyrics. Nothing too bad but I wouldn't recommend bringing your local pastor out for a night on the town.\r Pros: Food, Music Cons: Terrible Hostess/Wannabe Manager more

Great food, bad service 8/2/2009

I really enjoy myself everytime I go to the Longhorn except the last few times. I have a special way that I like things and there is only one server that ever seems to get it right for me, I believe her name is Tiffany. My wife and I have been going there for the past few years and we have learned to ask for this server by name so we know we will get the best service possible. She hasn't been working the last few times we have been in there and it is a shame. We continue to get the most rude, most unprofessional, and the most high strung server that we have ever seen at any restraunt. I cannot rememebr her name at this time but I believe it starts with an R. My wife and I haven't came in a few weeks do to the fact that we do not want that kind of service again. Although we have had good service from a younger girl also but we are hoping to come back and our favorite server will be working. \r Overall the food is amazing and the music from the bar is funny but should wait till later in the night for all the ""adult"" music. If anyone goes to the Longhorn in Auburn just opt for the bar to get better service or ask for a server by name! Pros: Fun show, great food Cons: This one server should not be working with customers more

Good Food, Great Service! 4/25/2008

I ate at the Longhorn last night and thoroughly enjoyed myself, and of course my meal. I shared a Rustler for Two with my boyfriend, which came with three meats and four sides. We ordered the turkey--absolutely delicious. It's not like that turkey you have at Thanksgiving. It's very moist, and I'd have to say the best turkey I've ever had. For the other two meats, we ordered ribs and ham--loved them both. Our side dishes were great as well. We ordered a baked potato, with any toppings you could possibly desire, offered to you. We ordered potato salad and coleslaw, both we recieved massive portions of. Our waitress hooked us up. And we also ordered steak fries for our final side. They are a lot like Red Robin's fries. You're also brought cornbread before your meal, which you can have refilled if you have room... can't say we had much room, but the cornbread was too good to pass up a refill. Our waitress was great, best service we've ever had. Her name was Raina. I remember this because I love the name. If you get her, you're in luck! We also stuck around to hear a little bit of the piano show. Great entertainment! Everyone in the bar seemed to be having a blast. I'll have to try the duelin' piano experience next time. Pros: parking, service, turkey, fun, etc. more

Worst Barbecue I Have Ever Eaten 2/10/2008

I cannot fathom how anyone that has ever eaten true Texas Bar B Q could ever enjoy the food at the Longhorn. I have been looking for a good place to eat Bar B Q since my arrival here from Texas last June. I was so disappointed with the options of meat, the store bought Kraft barbecue sauce, and the sides that were tasteless. This was a first for me, since a Texan supposedly owns the venue. THEY do not offer beef brisket, they do however provide a second option -ROAST BEEF- GIMME A BREAK. The worst, will never go back and to put it lightly, IT SUCKED like no other I have ever tasted. The service was good, the beer was cold, the food was terrible. Pros: Cold beer, good service Cons: Worst Barbecue I have ever tasted. Most defintitely not Texas defined. more

Bad re-heated food, small portions, expensive....Thank God they had a bar!! 1/11/2008

I was taken here for my birthday for the dueling pianos. Although the concept is great, it costs way too much to get them to play a song and not to mention the time you have to wait after you get ripped off-you're lucky if you hear it before you leave. As far as the food goes-YUCK! This is not BBQ, my chicken tasted and looked like a processed lunch meat patty. The portions were small too. Same goes for the appetizers-small portions, bad flavor really bad price. I would have to say the only thing that saved the night was the fact that they serve alcohol. Pros: The liquor is their saving grace Cons: Everything-food (if you can call it that), service, etc. more

Piano bar is the biggest scam 12/12/2007

The piano bar is one giant scam. We went to the piano bar and the whole night a woman continually outbidded other patrons' songs and it became known that she was actually the pianist's wife. Essentially the pianist was using his own money to entice others to spend more money bidding on songs. If you do decide to go DON'T BID ON THE SONGS unless you are prepared to be taken for a ride. The service was terrible, the staff are terrible, and it was one of the worst places in Auburn. I will never go there again.\r \r In addition, I complained to the manager and I was blown off. Management clearly approves of this type of deceptive conduct so I don't see any hope of this changing in the future. Sad because dueling piano bars are usually so much fun. Pros: Food is decent, parking Cons: staff is rude to patrons and the piano bar uses deceptive business practices to trick customers into spending more money more

The best entertainment for miles!!! 2/8/2007

I go to the Longhorn almost every weekend - and I LOVE IT!!! The food is always good with HUGE portions for the price, the service is friendly and very attentive and the bar tenders really know their stuff when it comes to cocktails too!! And the entertainment.... where do i start?!?! Its amazing! The piano players know almost every song, they keep the crowd rockin' all night and they are so talented!!! To think that you can get such a good night out and totally amazing live entertainment for just $7 cover... I love it!!!!! Pros: Big parking lot, near to freeway, great food!!! Cons: none!!!! more

Best Barbecue Around! 12/5/2006

I have been to the Longhorn many times. The dueling piano show is Awesome! The girls are cute and the food is delicious! Lil messy though. Pros: Great food, very nice staff, alot of fun on the weekends. more

Very Good BBQ! 7/5/2005

My girlfriend is from Texas, so she is a tough judge of BBQ, but we both love the Longhorn. The ribs are great, the hot wings are incredible, and everything else is very, very good. We like to do takeout from the Longhorn, even though we live in Puyallup--it's a great deal on great food. We have found it easier to get what we want for takeout by ordering a pound of ribs, then selecting separate side dishes to go with it. Pros: ribs, hot wings Cons: a bit far from home more

GREAT Service, Cheap Takeout 1/12/2003

We ate in the cocktail lounge last night. Service was friendly and very attentive. Food was okay, ribs were a little dry. It looked like the dining room is now cafeteria style. Their $2.50 TAKEOUT ONLY barbeque sandwiches are the best fast food buy for miles around. Pros: lounge service, takeout, parking more

fingerlicken good 8/13/2002

the size of the meal to the price was unexpected the smoked sausage or the ribs bet you can not eat just one. more
