Mike the delivery thug or is it worth it to get verbally abu 9/30/2011

Mike the delivery thug or is it worth it to get verbally abused for this pizza? No, it is not. I just had the worst experience after having La nova Pizza delivered to our office. The delivery guy, Mike, was screaming, verbally abusive and trying to use his size (over six feet tall 250+ pounds) to intimidate me, a small woman. I am sorry if it took him 20 minutes to find the office, but the receipt had the address and room number. He should have somebody read the address before leaving if he cannot read. In addition, what type of service is it to start screaming in a reception area, grab a receipt out of my hands, and refused to provide a receipt for the product delivered. I do not care how the pizza taste. It is not worth. Horrible experience more

Best White Pizza Ever; but... 1/20/2011

I handle the ordering for our company meetings and have used LaNova serveral times. There food is really good but the order ALWAYS arrive late and half the time they don't bring plates and napkins. Not worth the trouble if you're on a schedule. more

good pizza/wings but... 2/11/2009

i am a buffalo native. i have ordered la novas more times than i can remember: la novas has good wings, pizza and chicken fingers. they also have rude staff, inconsistent food quality, and crappy ""alternative items"" (e.g. eggplant parm - trust me from my experience, you're in buffalo, there are MUCH better places for dishes like this). they deliver everywhere - great. but 99% of the time i call, i get a rude, hurried individual on the phone. i get that i am probably calling when everyone else is - to the staff: its your job, deal with it. ive also been shorted wings on several occasions, sauces which i paid extra for, etc. in my opinion, there is better food and service (and cheaper prices) to be had elsewhere. just ask around (since this is not an endorsement for other area businesses). Pros: generally good food, open late Cons: inconsistent, watch the quantity, spec. order/spec requests, rude staff, pricier more

NO ONE MAKES BETTER BBQ WINGS ANYWHERE. 1/21/2009

If you get to the Buffalo area often, you know that LaNova is a ledgendary desitnation. Two Locations, but I find that the Main Street Location is easier when you are just driving through town. Oh and by the way their BBQ wings can make a grown man cry or in my case and those of many others that I know, it at least make you stop and get an order on the way.....PS they are really tasty, but the wings are a very dangerous thing to try to eat while driving.....\r \r Trust me, if you like wings, and you have had others BBQ wings, they usually fry them and splash some weak BBQ Sauce on them , not at LaNova. They are cooked on a grill and the sauce is of their own making. Its tangy and sweet and they seem to know just how to grill them. From a recent news story I saw, The owners said they sell between 400 to 500,000 pounds a week...somebody must likey....\r \r Not a fancy sit down place, in either location, Main Street has a counter with maybe 10 stools, but West Ferry the home base has tables and counter service. to describe it on a regional level they are like the Geno's cheese steak of Philly but for Buffalo wings... Pros: great wings and pizza Cons: only two locations more

Best criminal enterprize? 11/17/2007

The pizza isn't so bad if you don't mind supporting organized crime. 'Big Joe' Todaro was ousted from construction unions following FBI investigations. So now he hoodwinks the less educated citizens of the (notoriously corrupt) city of Buffalo into gulping down his overcooked whatever. His father had an opponent gutted, shot, strangled, and burned, on a farm in Wyoming county - nice guys, huh! and a ""family tradition"" to be sure. Rememeber, everytime you eat here, you are paying off the mob. Why not just buy dope? Pros: ""offers you can't refuse"" Cons: remember that horse's head on the producer''s bed? more

Best pizza on the planet 6/16/2006

I've been to several pizza places around the country and still fail to find one better than LaNova. Everytime I go to Niagara Falls, the first thing I do the next day is take a trip down to LaNova for lunch. They have the second best wings in Buffalo (Anchor Bar is the best, by a close margin). They have several different kinds of pizza, and every one of them is great! Pros: Best pizza anywhere Cons: parking more

every body in buffalo knows 11/7/2005

born and raised in buffalo on the west side where la novas is located , this place has become a trade mark to me and a lot of other people. the first time i had la novas i was 5 yrs old im now 30 this place has been around longer than me i think that alone says enough. The pizza what more could any one ask for. and the wings i have been away from buffalo for the past five years and i have not found any place that has even come close to the sauce. lets face it we have had some true italians in buffalo and this place was started by one of them you could stop 100 people in buffalo and not here what you herd from the buffalo bill he is probably not from buffalo and if he is he came from the suburbs... columbus,oh more

Yuck! 7/11/2005

Food is below average, service is non- existant. The only good thing I can say is that the sit down area is very nicely decorated. more

Best pizza anywhere! 7/11/2005

La Nova is by far the best pizza around. In looking at some of the other reviews, it is apparent that some of you don't know what good pizza is! There is no better, and the bbq wings are great. It is a little pricey, but if you want the best you have to pay for it! As far as service, I don't know about the Main St location but I have never waited more than a minute at the Ferry location because they have so many people working. I've been all over and I have yet to find food that compares. Pros: Pizza, Wings, Fast pickup Cons: Slow delivery more

There is better Pizza in the Buffalo area! 6/26/2005

The pizza is quite disappointing as it is extremely dry with very little sauce. It is well below average at best. I have had better frozen pizzas from Freschetta. The chicken wing sauce is excellent but the actual chicken wings are small. LaNova charges more and gives you less. Buy the sauce and make your own wings at home. The sandwiches are ok but pricey. Since the fire, the restaurant looks new. The city location is something to be desired. You have to look over your shoulder as the neighborhood the pizzeria is located in is questionable to say the least. I suggest that LaNova start making their pizzerias with first rate mozzarella cheese, add more sauce and upgrade your chicken wings to large from small that you currently serve. I also think LaNova should provide security to walk you to your car after you pick up your order. Pros: Wing Sauce, Sandwiches, hours Cons: Poor Parking, Overpriced, All Hype more

Firmly Convinced! 6/14/2004

I am originally from Buffalo, N.Y.. My occupation has required me to leave the area. I also do a lot of traveling. I have been across the ocean while in the Navy and all over the U.S.. In my travels I have yet to find pizza as good as LaNova's! Wings too! I am firmly convinced that New York State is the mecca of pizza and wings. LaNova's is the ""royal palace""! Pros: Always Fresh, Price/Portion ratio, Friendly Service more

Truth 3/25/2004

I read the negative and positive, each very contridicting, so I decided to try it for myself. La Nova is beyond good. From the second I walked in the door I was treated like family and my purchase mattered. I highly reccomend La Nova and hope you feel the same. Pros: UNIQUE TOPPINGS, treated like i matter more

mush 2/10/2003

The last pizza was topped with tomatoes and onions was so mushy practically needed a spoon to eat it. Their BBQ wings are the absolute BEST!!!! Pros: BBQ Wings, Fast delivery, Friendly Cons: Improve pizza more

Excellent!!! 2/9/2003

Many different pizza's and subs to choose from. Reasonable prices for the quality of their pizza's. Pros: reasonable, upbeat, friendly more

twice the price and half as nice!! 1/13/2003

The service there is the worst and the food is very sloppy for the money. Everything in the pizzeria in general seemed to run a lot smoother about a year ago, in regards to your 5151 main street location. I think that you should do some serious evaluating in regards to who you have run the place. The customer service in the place has dropped substantually since I have personally seen different people working behind the counter. My place of employment orders a lot of food from your establishment quite often and I have to say that more recently we have hesitated to order, due to the high prices and poor food in return. I do not think that my place of employment would mind the prices quite as much if the food backed it self up. I hope this letter truly opens someone at the pizzeria's eyes. Pros: quality, taste, location Cons: price, service, speed more

just believe the hype 12/31/2002

Since I am not a wing eater and tend to be picky I did not eat here until they moved to Williamsville... First time was no good... pizza had slid in delivery and was goopy.. But they fixed the problem and we have not had a problem since. I recommend the New York style pizza.. It is the bomb! I also love their fingers... a double order comes with fries and you can get any of their awesome sauces on them! I give many thumbs up.. The parking lot is crazy though! Pros: Fingers, Breadsticks, New york pizza Cons: parking, wait time more
