Rental Policy Subjective 10/1/2009

I recently sent my son's Alto Saxophone to be repaired at Ken Stanton. I was told they would start working on it by Oct. 12. Since my son has to practice everyday that is part of his Band grade, I went to Ken Stanton Music, since they have a sign on the front door stating that they rent instruments, to rent an Alto Sax, like I did in 2008 when his Saxophone was being repaired. I spoke with the staff and one person started to explain the 3 month minimum rental process. I started filling out the paperwork and was told by another staff member that I could not rent the Alto Saxophone because they don't do short term rentals. No one was able to explain to me what short term rental means? But was told too bad I can't rent the Sax unless I was renting it for a school year. There seemed to be conflicting information and I was not very happy with the staff personnel. The repair department has been very cooperative and they do an excellent job. It is the band department that I have major issues more

Good value and selection 1/29/2008

Ken Stanton has a good selection of value-priced instruments (I'm mostly a guitar player so that is whatI will comment about) that are great for newer players and those looking for a bargain. Lots of Fenders and others. Good prices on accessories and they have a samll selection of amps too. The staff is not as personable as other stores, they seem to be either non-exsistent or act like you are bothering them by wanting to check out gear. For that reason I do not rate them as high as other stores like Ponier or Guitar Center. more

Ken Stanton Music is well respected by the parents in this community as a customer service oriented music store.\r Staff is knowledgable and courteous. Whenever I have visited I have been promptly greeted by staff who have been very helpful in answering my questions and servicing my needs. From band and orchestra instrument rental to guitars and sheet music, this is the place to go for your needs. Pricing is reasonable and competitive. more
