J & F Gemelli Salon- Preston Walk

First trip to this salon! I've had more bad hair cuts than I can count and was a little nervous about getting my hair cut for the first time since January! Mary Beth was highly recommended by a great friend of mine and she went above and beyond to make sure I was happy. Will be telling friends and family and will be back! more

I am so glad my realtor recommended this salon to me. Alan has cut and colored my hair several times and he is a true hair artisan. He is very detailed oriented and I really like that he is hands on all the way through the design process. more

I've been a client at J & F Gemelli for 10+ years, and probably will be for another 10+ years! I've had cuts, color, highlights, Brazilian Blowouts, and even a perm with them. I've never had anything but the best service and have been delighted with my hair every single time. Rashelle is my stylist and is the BEST! Julian's great too. Wish I could name the other stylists I've seen, but I can't recall their names. But they were all fantastic. more

I've seen Rashelle here. I have very difficult hair to work with (fine, frizzy, wavy, lots of it) and she manages to transform my hair from damaged to beautiful each time. She even corrected a botched haircut I had gotten from someone else. I end up looking exactly like the picture I bring in and feel like a movie star each time I leave. For me to go from split ends to the smoothest, unfrizzy hairdo in about one hour is almost miraculous! My hair feels like silk after the blowout (which she spends a long time on). Maybe the first time I felt my hair was cut a little shorter than I wanted, but I had asked for all the damage to be cut off, and my hair looked healthy for a long time thereafter. I got lots of compliments after the first cut and had NO split ends afterwards (which some prior hairdressers missed). Her technique and skill level is outstanding, and my layers around my face are always perfectly symmetric. She spends a great deal of time with you to make sure things are perfect and you are happy. You are always aware of what is going on during the cut and get to examine your haircut fully before leaving, which is great given I have always had trust issues with hairdressers. I definitely go home and examine things carefully and have never found a problem with my hair after seeing Rashelle. I also feel hesitant going to ""higher end"" salons and worried they could be snobby, but everyone has always been polite and made me feel comfortable. Products are not pushed. I don't like to spend lots of money on a cut but feel the price is worth it. I have moved out of state now but am seriously considering seeing Rashelle again as I worry I will not find someone as good in my new city. more

My wife went in to the salon and got a haircut and color from Antonella. My wife asked for her to trim the ends and add some layers. Next thing Antonella cut off 8 inches from my wife's hair. She never asked or communicated what she was doing. I walked in and asked if she was getting it cut off and donating to the locks for love and my wife freaked out!!!!!! Very unprofessional.... What a disaster! Cons: No communication more

fantastic place. Ask your stylist to work with you but if you're not into hearing an honest opinion then don't bother but if you want to come out looking like a million $$$$ this is your place! Pros: stylists listen and are honest Cons: cannot think of one more

The hairstylists are way overrated. And they treat non-white customers disrespectfully. The customer service is poor, and the hair cut is definitely not worth the price you pay for. I was in and out of this place in less than 15 mins, including the hair wash, and my hairstylist was hasty and very rude. I would have rather just gone to Supercuts! Pros: None that I noticed Cons: If you are a person of color do NOT go to this place more

I've been to top salons all over the US throughout my travels. Someone recommended this salon/stylist. Their web page gives the impression that this particular stylist is extrememly well trained in color and cutting. My color is nothing like I requested. Roots are 4 shades darker than the rest of my hair. The cut is poor. I think I could have gotten a better cut/color at any local walk-in. Pros: Nice atmosphere Cons: Stylist not nearly as talented as led to believe more

I just received a phone call from Connie at your Stone Creek store to cancel my sons appointment because apparantly Antonella is too good to cut my 16 year olds hair. I was told Antonella does not do childrens hair, even though she has already cut his hair 4 times, and funny I was never charged CHILDRENS prices. I assume it is bcause,the last time he was in he may have been unclear on what he wanted her to do, which obviosly annoyed her. He was in no way dissrespectful or rude and handled himself as a true gentleman. I called to make him another appointment which was for Friday. We are leaving town on Saturday morning for an affair, now I need to find another appointment quickly. In this economy you should be grateful for people willing to come in and pay top dollar for a haircut, she always received a very good tip as well. I am appalled that the managemnt/ownership allowed her to make this call, instead of just being slightly inconvenienced and respecting the appointment. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!! more

I never write reveiws... Rashelle is FANTASTIC. One of the best compliments I can give her is she is consistently good. I have been going to her for a couple of years and have always been very happy with my do!!! more

I visted J&F Gemelli for the first time recently and it was a great experience. I was a little picky about my hair cut b/c I had a big upcoming event. Rochelle (sp?) was very understanding and really listened to what I said. I got a great hair cut and she blew it out beautifully! I will definatley go back! Pros: Convenient, Service more

I've been going to this salon for about a year and see Han Mi each time. She is wonderful!! Not only does she listen to what I want (and does it correctly) but she is also always upbeat and friendly. I'm not sure how the other stylists are, but Han Mi is the reason I keep going back. more

I used to go and get my hair cut by a great stylist named Tara, and she left to go elsewhere. Due to the location, I decided to go again b/c Tara was amazing! The last time I went, I went with a creative stylist and it was not worth a single penny. I wanted a trim and wanted more layers put in and my bangs done up again. I couldn't even notice that anything was done to my hair. My bangs were not thinned out at all and were left as long as ever. The stylist didn't even style my hair. He just dryed it down straight in a very painful way. The place is really nice and the staff is nice but it was my favorite place now it is not worth my $55 at all. Pros: location, friendly staff Cons: the "creative stylist" more

Always outstanding, always a fantastic experience. The last time my hair looked this good was with a Glemby salon in Neimans. Worth every penny and more. more
