Nothing bad 8/30/2006

What's not to love about Ikea, especially this here one in Schaumburg (meaning ""Cream Mountain"" in German). Floors and aisles and floors of reasonably priced furniture and cool things. Moving into a new place? H1t up Ikea. more

All you'll need is a couple of dollars when visiting Ikea the first time. ...a few dollars to purchase 'something' - which you will - since the prices of their object 'art are so reasonable. Then the next time you shop there, you may go into the more pricey items that make a house feel like a trendy home. more

I'm from Minneapolis and the first time I was at Ikea I felt like I was in a different world. It has an atmosphere like no other. Here at home I make sure I tell people to stop and just look in the big blue store if they head to Chi-town. Guaranteed for a purchase. You can't help it. And I love the cart escalators. I drive the 8 hours once a month just to shop. Pros: Great deals, good parking, escalators for carts Cons: far away more

Who can't like IKEA? 6/6/2002

I've gotta watch myself -- every time I come out here, I end up packing the car with stuff that is cool, but I don't really need. Everything is great and the prices are almost ridiculous. Yeah, it's not the kind of stuff that's going to last for 50 years -- but you're paying $19 for a bookshelf. And be warned, most of the furniture needs to be put together -- not too difficult, but it can be time-consuming. Pros: Huge selection Cons: Way crowded more

where else can you get a bag of votive candles for like $2.99? this is a great place for 20-somethings just starting out to get furniture and stock up on supplies. it's a huge store, and you're guaranteed to walk out with more than you thought. but at these prices, who's complaining? quality's not the best, but by the time the stuff falls apart you should be able to afford the real thing.
