Ichiza: Got to be the only Real Japanese restaurant in Vegas 3/27/2010

Place came recommended by friends who use to live in Vegas. Definitely off the beaten path (in 2-story shopping plaza near Chinatown area) but worth the drive. Think mostly locals go to this place. Truly authentic Japanese restaurant...has to be the only one worth going to in Vegas. They've got one of those cool floor seating areas for big groups. Pretty much all food is good here. Pros: Excellent, authentic Japanese food more

This is a really great restaurant and the staff is fun! I can't wait to go back there someday. Try the grilled squid. It is delicious. Pros: ! more

Best Japanese ever and you can have it as laste as 3am! I love this place! 2/17/2009

I'm about to go to Ichiza for the third time in the past 5 days. I can't help myself! Things I adore at Ichiza: Ramen DS with Kakuni (pork belly), Tofu with Tuna Sashimi Salad, Unagi sashimi, Black Seared Cod with Miso (butterfish), and the Honey Toast. I have to start each time with the Tofu Sashimi Salad and oh my freakin' goodness with the pork belly that just melts in your mouth. It's an enormous portion too. I felt like the biggest piggy (no pun intended) after ordering both the Ramen DS with Kakuni and the Tofu and Tuna Sashimi salad. Such a cute little restaurant that it takes you away from thinking that you're actually in Vegas and not in Japan. You have to go! I'm going right now again....and it's 1:00am. HA HA. Pros: i can't believe i liked tofu this much! Cons: It's so busy whenever you go so just get a drink and wait at the door for ten minutes or so. more

Surprsingly delicious food prepared with creativity and attention to freshness. 11/28/2007

I am very glad that I found Ichiza, based upon the recommendations of my friends. I only eat here very late at night, just before they are closing. I usually walk in somewhere between 1:30 and 2am. I am consistently impressed with the uniqueness and freshness of their food. I like to order from the haphazardly posted ""specials"" all over the walls. Every thing I have eaten here was a tasty and near-perfect little morsel. \r \r The menu items are VERY eclectic, and things which I have never seen at other restaurants. Surprising choices like broiled eggplant, tomatoes and mozzarella; and British sausages with chips, (which have no place on a Japanese menu) are absolutely simple and delicious. Nonetheless they are simply prepared, with delicious and fresh ingredients which make the flavors ""pop"".\r \r More traditional but still difficult to obtain menu options like grilled salmon collar, monkfish pate, stir-fried beef tongue, and wild mushrooms ""en papillote"", are similarly delicious. I have eaten so many different things from the ""specials"" menu that I don't even eat the sushi here all that often. \r \r Even their deserts are unique and delicious. Things like coffee jello are great because the coffee jello is strong flavored, but without a grain of sugar, while the fresh whipped cream on top has plenty of sweetness to carry through the entire desert. The soymilk mousse sounds bizzare, but tastes light and heavenly. The best desert has to be the block of white bread which is buttered and toasted and filled with a cold scoop of ice cream and drizzled with honey. Simple and decadent.\r \r Since I eat here fairly frequently, I have signed up for their special discount card, which allows you to take 5% then 10% and (perhaps 15%?) off the entire bill, as you return to the restaurant more and more.\r \r Pros: OPEN LATE!!!! Eclectic and delicious menu specials. Kirin Ichiban ON TAP! Loyalty discount card. Cons: In a strip mall in Chinatown, stuck up on the second floor. Seems popular with younger crowd (if that's a turn off for you). more

Yummy... 8/8/2007

This place is addicting... Oh so good. Everythingon the menu is excellent. I work on the strip and after work (like midnight) is really busy...but definately worth the wait. I also have had the honey toast with the ice cream and it is so good... Very simple... You have to go!!! Pros: Good Service Cons: Long Wait.. more

call for reservations it does get busy 1/21/2007

this place is awesome. Authentic japanese food and setting. You seriously feel as if your in Japan. Order from the items on the walls written in Japanese and subtitled in english or order from the set menu. Some of my favorites are the grilled whole squie, grilled salmon belly, and deep fried baby soft shell crab. For dessert order the honey toast. Its a loaf of sweet japanse bread, toasted lightly, drizzled with honey and topped with 1 scoop of vanilla ice scream. 2 for 1 beers are awesome. aloha ad more

First Izakaya in Vegas and it is just good! 10/1/2006

I was tired of the Strip food and went out of my way to explore more Las Vegas. I found this place, called Ichiza. I am very much spoiled by the food the San Francisco Bay Area offers. I liked the atmosphere; it was very much like the ones I experienced when I was visiting Japan. Moreover, their food was just fantastic! If you are tired of sushi restaurants you see everywhere you turn, try this place. This is authentic homey Japanese food. Open late until 3-am. I will visit this place again when I go to the Strip next time. more
