Gymboree

I have been a member at Gymboree for a long time and just recently canceled. I agree it did get boring and the same songs and activities were repeated. We had my daughters birthday party there and I spent over 250.00. The teacher didnt know how to entertain the children and I was embarrased. For that price they had free play and plates for my cake I brought. We had cake in the back art room with no chairs for the adults. As we were leaving they were cleaning the floors but did not touch the balls that were in several kids mouths. Yikes! My daughter is very happy with our new place we found. Peek a Boo Playtown in Franklin is so much better. The kids have a great time in there town made for kids. They dip all toys in a antibacterial cleaner several times a day. I can actually sit in a adult chair and relax or play with my daughter. I spend all day there for $7.00 you cant beat that and my daughter wont get sick! more

Not too bad, but after you've been here more than a couple of months you start to realize it should be re-named Gym-bore-ree. Emphasis on the bore. I am a therapist in pediatrics so maybe I'm a tough audience, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that they just repeat the same few activities and songs over and over again. They have good equipment but don't utilize it in the best way, and do little to promote socialization between the kids. This place could be so much more dynamic. I thought when my son moved up to the next age group, there would be a whole new set of songs and activities. Instead, it was the exact same routine and he wound up getting bored and leaving the circle during song time. I don't blame him. I wanted to leave too. more

We brought our 9 month old here to try a free class. She LOVED it! She had so much fun with the activities and the other kids. She played so hard that she was asleep before we got out of the parking lot. The teacher was wonderful. It was nice to be able to interact with other parents too. We didn't feel pressured when it came time to sign up. We will definately be coming back!\r more

My wife and I took our 8 month old and we had a blast. Our daughter laughed the entire time....she loves interacting with other children. As new parents, it was nice to hear stories from other parents on their struggles and victories. We were very impressed with clean and friendly environment and look forward to our next class! I just went there with my little girl who is 9 months old for a free class. They called me before and told me she would have a great time. Well she seemed bored the whole class. There was 2 people there. She did like the bubbles but I have those at home from the Gymboree in the mall. After the class they were so pushy for me to sign up I felt like I was at a used car dealership. It felt as though they were desperate for people to join. They called me again after I said no. It got quite annoying. It wasnt all that it was crack up to be. Also I had to change my daughter and the bathroom was filthy. If you go here change your child in your car. Pros: bubbles Cons: pushy workers more

We've been taking our daughter there for several months now and she absolutely loves it. Plus I've made some great new friends along the way! You can't be the free play gyms, especially when it gets hot this summer. Pros: Everyting! Cons: Drive is a little far, but worth it. more

This was a great safe and fun place for the kids to play before the new owners took over. My kids had fun and loved the teachers. The new owners have ran the old teachers out and are either teaching the classes themselves or have hired new ones. After finding out that the new owners have cut costs by not finger printing their teachers or doing any backround checks I called the corporate office. I found out they have not done any checks on these new teachers. Who knows who these new teachers are and who these kids are dropped off with. Very scary. I have pulled my children out of there and so have my friends. Saftey is not a place to cut costs when it comes to my son's saftey. I have been to My Gym, Kindermusic, Music Together, Little Gym, Monkey's Tree house, etc...GYMBOREE is hands down the BEST place to take your kids. It is by FAR the CLEANEST location. The staff is so friendly. We've been coming for 2 years! WE LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT. Pros: CLEAN, SAFE, FUN! Cons: Sometimes the music gets a little loud. more

I had my son in a play class here for several months and he just loves it. He has fun playing here and it is always clean. I just put him in the drop off class and he just loves this. He cant wait till he gets to go play. This is such a fun place for little ones. Pros: wonderful teachers Cons: sometimes it gets busy more

Children love this place and most adults do too. However, sometime the music is turned up too loud. Many children are sensory sensitive and they are already on overload with all the fun. This probably depends on the teacher. The much bigger concern of some parents (I've had the conversation twice with other parents) is that the Gymbo clown (stuffed) hugs and kisses each kid in the P&L class. Even if the child does not go to the clown the teachers make the clown hug AND kiss them. Not all children love clowns especially when they are placed in their personal space. This spreads illness and should be stopped for many reasons. Granted, sick kids should not be in class but many germs are passed before people show signs of an illness. If the children want Gymbo love they should be given an option to go to the clown on their own WITHOUT adult pressure. I would think a business geared toward little ones would be mindful of all these things. All in all, a really fun place and we still go on a regular basis - your kids will love it (unless they are sensory sensitive)! Pros: Kids Love it! Lots of Fun! Cons: Too Much Clown Love.
